Saw the successful bids with Westin (in River North) so that's what I was hoping for, but figure I can deal with the Loop as well.

Tried various bid combination/free rebids, started from $85 and did not get accepted until $115.

Neither great location nor a very good price, but acceptable I suppose. Anyway I am pretty sure I used the link (unless I close the window and then reopen or something, but I am pretty sure the successful bid was in a window opened by the PRICELINE link)...

Sorry to hear that you're disappointed with the result. Does look like a nice discount (lowest reg. rate is $219) and while I haven't stayed at this property yet it looks quite nice - it's a famous, historic hotel that was closed for a while then reopened not that long ago after a massive renovation. The location isn't particularly central, but is within reasonable distance to the Art Institute and Museum Campus. Hackney's Printers Row (733 S Dearborn St) is nearby and recommended for burgers and other odds/ends (see the segment from the Food Network "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" on another Hackney's location: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPCZSx2hI_E...feature=related), and in terms of Pizza, there's a Lou Malnati's on 805 S. State.
