That hotel for $89 now hasn't been ID'ed yet. It has a TripAdvisor rating of 3 out of 5, which is pretty middling.

On TripAdvisor there's only one Carmel hotel with a 3 rating and that's the Carmel Inn and Suites, so that would be my first guess. The reviews are all over the map, from 1 to 5.

We bid on PRICELINE and got the Portola and Spa for $80 as listed in my new post.

Actually, studying the website more in depth, it seems they do have a summer special on that might interest some to book direct or through a link here in the support page. Two nights with breakfast everyday, plus a two day pass to aquarium or paddle boats, etc. Kids eat free. Not bad for $289. So take that into account. If traveling with kids especially it might be a good deal for you.

Remember, there is a $17 per day parking charge, plus tip, so that is really an additional at least $20 per day.
