I tried for a weekday (6/24/10) a few weeks prior, and up to $140 or $145, but couldn't get them to even counter offer. Gave up for now. Good luck....

L'ermitage was the only 5* I saw in Priceline retail when 5* option first appeared.

Some hotels use Priceline sparingly. Only on weekends, only during offseason, etc. The 5* bidding option will always appear even if the lone 5* hotel only gives Priceline inventory a few nights a year. 4* bidding came back to Santa Monica-Marina Del Rey zone over a year ago, and there's still no report of 4* success there, even during off season. Many have tried.

Has anyone stayed at L'ermitage? Is it distinctive or a step up from the other 4* and something worth pursuing?

Hi there

On priceline.co.uk in the regular booking system there are a two other 5* showing in that area now- don't know if the two correlate with what's avaialble on NYOP

Sunset Tower 5* and Sofitel5* in the descripetion for sofitel it says:

"Experience state-of-the-art amenities and unrivaled services in a modern and sophisticated atmosphere at this hotel, ideally situated on the trendy West Side, minutes from Beverly Hills and West Hollywood"

so could be either of those as well

I just checked Priceline U.S. and Sofitel and Sunset Tower are still rated 4* here. I thought the various national Priceline versions used the same rating for the same hotel, but maybe not.
