Tahoebob54 Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Marriott sacramento (Rancho Cordova)I have used betterbidding in the past so I know how to use priceline to my advantage, And yet I still made a mistake.I needed a room for Thursday night 6-3 in Sacramento as I have business in Sac very early Friday morning. with 8 different zones in Sacramento and only two having a 4* there is lots of room to play with. I started out with the downtown area (4* in this area) at $42.00 , it was rejected. Added zones with a $2.00 increase every time. My mistake was I should have put the other 4* zone second, not last. When I added the Rancho Cordova zone my bid of $56.00 was accepted. I might have been able to get this room for a few bucks cheaper. I am very happy with the price I ended up with, and my wife really likes to stay at 4* places at a economy price.I used your PRICELINE link. your information is so helpful.
AaronJB Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Congratulations on your success. :)While you may have been able to get this for a couple of bucks cheaper, it's still quite a good deal for this Marriott property. Please do follow-up with this previous Tampa Hotwire thread, and if you have any other previous PRICELINE or HOTWIRE wins, sharing them with the board would be greatly appreciated, as the information does help other users.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
Colfax Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 A 4* Downtown probably would have cost $80 or more, so you got the least expensive 4* available. Enjoy!
