cornmouse Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Hi,I really need help now. I tried to bid for a room at 3.5 star hotel and according to the list, there is no 3.5 star hotel in Eagan, so I selected Eagan as a rebidding zone and they gave me a room at Crowne Plaza mall America! I called Priceline and they allowed me to send another request and if successfully got accepted, they will only charge me $25 for the cancellation fee. But right now, it's so hard to get a room at decent price. I've bid up to $95!! Hope to have some suggestions! Thanks!
cornmouse Posted May 15, 2010 Author Report Posted May 15, 2010 Update: I've bid up to $120!I guess I have no luck.
thereuare Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!Sorry to hear you received a hotel in a zone you didn't intend. Note that at the top of the Priceline Hotel List it specifically states not to use the hotel lists to determine your re-bid zones:This list is NOT a complete list of all hotels that Priceline offers in this area, it is ONLY a compilation of hotels that have already been reported on this forum. Hotels are added/removed by Priceline all the time, and star ratings can change at ANY time. As well, the geographic boundaries of an area are subject to change, so it is always a good idea to look at the Priceline map before purchasing. DO NOT USE THIS LIST to determine what areas to add when attempting to bid again within the 24 hour window (CLICK HERE for information on how to add cities in order to bid again).See the following thread: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained for the proper way to determine your re-bid zones, and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before bidding. We've used this thread to reflect your purchase of the Crowne Plaza, please ad a reply to this thread with the amount of your winning bid so we can add this information to the topic title... then feel free to start a NEW TOPIC so we can help with your 'replacement' purchase for this stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Colfax Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Update: I've bid up to $120!In which zone or zones have you bid up to $120? You've bid up to $120 for 4* or 3.5*?
cornmouse Posted May 16, 2010 Author Report Posted May 16, 2010 $125 for 3.5 stars actually. And the previous bid for the wrong Eagan hotel was $75.
Colfax Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 We know you added Eagan zone by mistake but you've never said which zone you were TRYING to win.
cornmouse Posted May 17, 2010 Author Report Posted May 17, 2010 Oh yes. I wanted one in downtown Minneapolis.so I ended up getting a room without going through the bidding process..
Colfax Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 It's possible you included "Downtown Minneapolis" in your original subject line, cornmouse, and when the subject line was edited to reflect the Crowne Plaza win the "Downtown Minneapolis" part was deleted, before I saw the thread.Sorry we weren't able to help on this one, but you found a hotel Downtown and that's the main thing.Enjoy your stay.
