billybob001 Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 I was trying for a 4* at around $100 including all taxes and fees in Fishermans Wharf and Marina areas. Then added Embarcadero and Union Square. Bid for about 3 days unsuccessfully. Yesterday I got Marriott Fishermans Wharf/North Beach for $119 including all taxes and fees. It was about $15.00/night more than I wanted to spend...and it's only 3.5 stars... but I'm still happy. The posted rack rate is $229.00 inclusive for this room....so I feel I got an OK deal...just average...nothing outstanding...but it's a good enough rate for me!It's the first time I've ever used PRICELINE or better bidding.

Colfax Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 I feel I got an OK deal...just average...nothing outstanding...but it's a good enough rate for me! It's the first time I've ever used PRICELINE or better bidding.$119 when Marriott's rate is $229 seems like a very good deal to me, almost half off. I think you did very well on your first PRICELINE bid, billybob001.And I see now you paid "$119 including all taxes and fees", so your bid price was lower than $119...maybe $100 or so.
