My GF stayed at this AmeriSuites three times on PL bids that I did for her, prior to her Richmond apartment becoming available for move-in (she's there a week or two every month for business).

This report is second hand but her comment that they don't do a good job of cleaning is worth noting. We travel together regularly and I've only heard her make that remark about one other hotel we've stayed in. She has an intense dislike/fear regarding spiders and said that all three rooms she stayed in had plenty of cobwebs along the ceiling corners that had not been cleaned. She did find a spider on a few occasions as well (it's the South and I expect to find spiders due to the climate but it's a major issue for her).

I repeat - this is second hand information but may be of interest to some. On a positive note, she did like the area and location - convenient and safe for a woman traveling alone.

I've been a better bidding member since 2007 and this is my first post - which should be some indication of how bad my experience with this hotel was for me to finally figure out how the heck to post on here.

I stayed at this hotel after getting it from Priceline's NYOP. While I had booked for two nights, I only stayed one because it is truly dirty. Upon walking into my room, I noticed the room smelled musty and unpleasant. It was a strangely warm time in March so my thought was that the air conditioner had not been run and it was musty smelling from that. Plus, it was late and I was tired. The next morning, after inspecting the room a bit better, it was flat out dirty. There was something that had splattered all down one side of one of the bed clothes/dust ruffle between and underneath the night stand (my imagination was running wild) and the carpet had large stains everywhere. So I left the room for a while and upon my return was nearly knocked out by the stench. My apologies for the candor, but it smelled like dirty feet and beer. So I packed my stuff and told them I wanted a refund for the second night and they said they would move me to a different room. Upon entering said different room, it smelled exactly the same! I asked the attendant if she could not smell that and she said, "Yes, it does smell a bit musty". She then offered to bring me a can of air freshener. My comment to her was, "that's putting lipstick on a pig!". I agreed to give her time to find me another room (i.e. clean) and left my luggage where she was going to find a satisfactory room for me and put my luggage in for when I returned later that evening (I was working). When I returned, it was in the same, nasty room so I got my bag at 9 pm and told them I wanted a refund for that night and checked into the Hilton Garden Inn next door. Never again at this Hyatt Place. I was quite dismayed because I had been having great luck with them - normally clean, etc. Not this one.
