I actually bid this a couple of weeks ago, but the stay is six months away so I think its still relevant.

Have tried this one a couple of times recently with no luck. Opened a series of different bids today and got a counter to add $27 on a bid of $75, which I declined. Had plenty of bids in hand so I rebid $85, and then up by $2 per bid, final rejection at $89.

2 nights @ $91 taxes etc 36.41 = $218.41 total.

Best price on Westin site was Seniors rate $219

taxes 65.09 = $503.09

Got to put my hands up and say I overbid this one, $75 was supposed to be my self imposed limit and I wouldn

Is there some sort of trick you used to get the Westin? All the four stars are in the downtown area, and it'd seem logical that Priceline would give you the Hyatt or Renaissance whose rates are considerably cheaper than the Westin.

I just posted elsewhere on the board that there is often little correlation between a hotel's published price and the rate they are willing to accept/offer the opaque players... therefore one should not expect to win the hotel with the lowest 'traditional' rate in the zone.
