bbbb Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Phoenix/Scottsdale the 3* Radisson in the Scottsdale area has been closed for about a year and will not reopen. They are building condos on the grounds.
BEAV Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 Reno, NV changes & observations:Hilton has sold the Reno Hilton and it is now called the Grand Sierra Resort. Not sure whether or not it participates w/Priceline or Hotwire, however the hotel did not display in a number of vacation package searches of both venues. Also, Hotwire is now displaying the Peppermill in two categories. A vacation package search of 9/19-9/21 reveals that in addition to the 3.5 star Peppermill Hotel & Casino, they have also added the Peppermill Montego Bay Wing. The property is rated 3 stars with amenities of: Casino, Airport Shuttle, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Golf, Tennis & Spa. Finally, the Hotwire hotel list is displaying the 2.5 star Sands Regency in two different zones, despite there being only one downtown Reno zone on Hotwire.
dahammer Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Secaucus-North BergenThe Wyndham Suites, formerly the Prime Suites, formerly the Radisson Suites, is now a La Quinta Inn and Suites. It was a Wyndham for all of about 5 months, this property must be cursed as it just can't seem to hit its stride. Rooms are available for $200 a night, which is pretty high compared to the amenities. I ran into an upset guest who made his reservation as a Wyndham, he won't get his "by request" amenities or 500 airline miles.
blindman Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 Chicago zone Skokie\Niles\Evanston has both a 3* and a 4* option.
zbenye Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 The Hyatt Sainte Claire in San Jose is no longer a Hyatt. It is now "The Sainte Claire, A Larkspur Hotel".
Bob7 Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 The 3* Marriott Marina in FLL downtown is now the Fort Lauderdale Grande according to their web site.
chas Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 I believe I have pinned a Hotwire hotel that is not listed on the "Hotwire Florida Pinned" page. I found it by first looking for a hotel room for Thanksgiving 2006 ($58/nite Nov 24-26) and then looking for a vacation package for late October 2006. Stars and ammenities matched up exactly, so I think you are safe with this one, and I hope it helps someone:Miami Beach North/Sunny Isles2 stars6 iconsBeachfrontFitnessPoolRestLaundryTennis NearbyTurns out to be Best Western Thunderbird Resort, 18401 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160
blindman Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 London seems to have a new zone "Docklands"Offers 4*,3* and 2*and a revamped area now called "Finsbury-Islington"Offers 4*,3* and 2*
Wally Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 The Holiday Inn Rancho Cordova is now a La Quinta.
AaronJB Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 The Mag Mile/Wacker Drive area on Hotwire in Chicago is now called Mag Mile-Streerville. Hotwire also has a new Lakeview-Wrigleyville zone in Chicago that's likely for the one main hotel in that area - the Best Western Hawthorne Terrace. The Chicago Loop zone and South and West of Loop zones also appear to have been altered. The Chicago Hilton and Towers on South Michigan Ave. looks to have been absorbed into the South and West of Loop zone. The Loop North border now also appears to end at the river, meaning that the Swiss and the Hyatt (as well as Hotel 71) are now likely Loop hotels instead of Mag Mile/Streeterville hotels.

Wally Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 San Francisco Hotwire zone changes:1) The former "Van Ness/Lombard Corridor--Pacific Heights" zone has been split in two. The two new zones are "Japantown-Civic Center North" and "Lombard Street-Marina District".The Holiday Inn Golden Gateway and Opal Hotels are now in the Japantown-Civic Center North zone.2) The former "Civic Center" zone is now called "Civic Center South". I don't have a map of the old zones but I think this is just a renaming and not a change of boundaries.
thereuare Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 The Hotels listed below are in Kansas but are listed on the Missouri Hotwire Hotel List threadAll of the zones above are part of the Kansas City Region, which is in Missouri, which is why they are classified in that hotel list. mccarthys5 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Not sure where to post this, but I'm a Local Expert for Philadelphia on the Tripadvisor. Wanted to let you know that one of the posters there just won the Loews hotel in Philadelphia on Hotwire, but the SPA icon is no longer listed in the amentities on Hotwire. She had thought she was getting the Westin, but it ended up being the Loews. Just a FYI.Suzanne
cfprunner Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Actually there is a Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO.The #1 tourist attaction in the state of Kansas is in Kansas City, KS.Listing them on the pinned list of KS hotwire hotels might be helpful for folks traveling to the Kansas Speedway, or people how are looking for a place of relatives to say over the holidays who live on the Kansas side and wouldn't dream of making anyone stay in MO, (such as myself) :)
kohalasunset Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Waikiki Marina Area has been added to Waikiki Beach Area and Waikiki City Central. That should make it easier to bid 4*.

thereuare Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 Thanks for the additions/updates.In case you ddin't see it, there are additional hotels listed beyond the first post of the Hotwire Hotel Lists... when hotels appear in the vacation packages, but not yet reported, we keep them in subsequent posts in the same thread in order to make the distinction. Sometimes a hotel will have different amenities in the vacation product vs. the opaque hotel product. Thanks again for helping us keep things up-to-date. :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
jiji Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Looks like Hotwire decided to change the zoning for the Honolulu / Waikiki area. The following zones now are listed:Waikiki NorthWaikiki SouthWaikiki BeachfrontDowntown HonoluluDiamond HeadAirportSeems like it'll be a challenge to identify and see where hotels with similar icons show up. Priceline recently changed up the zones as well.
