  2. I have been trying for over a month for two rooms for the La Paloma/Ventana Canyon area of Tucson (would prefer Ventana Canyon) for one night May 12, 2012. I have been bidding in the $75-$87 range with no luck - not even an offer to bid more. Do you think it's still too early or bidding for two rooms is a problem? I don't know if I should bid higher as I really don't want to get La Paloma and notice the winning bids for Ventana Canyon have been in the $75-$85 range (although I see in the 90s last year around this time). Thanks.
  3. I am not sure how to change the heading - it was a 4*, San Diego Downtown/Harbor Island

  10. Haven't bid yet. Just looked at Hotwire to see which resorts they show available for my dates and they have a four star in North Tucson for $147 which I believe is the Omni and a 3.5 star for $147 which I believe is the Hilton El Conquistador. The difference between the two is that it shows high speed internet in the rooms in the 3.5 star and the Hilton does have that whereas Omni only has it in select rooms. I don't think either one of those is Westward Look. Do you agree? Thx.
  11. Okay, thanks. Was looking at the three resorts websites in North Tucson and Westward Look is sold out for my dates, Omni rate is $199 and Hilton is $209 so hopefully I can win the Omni as that's the one I really want.
  12. okay, thanks. I think I understand the rebidding. Zone 1 would be Tucson Airport and Zone 2 would be Tucson East since they don't have resorts. Is that correct?
  13. Done - I have posted my results for both. Please advise for this Tucson resort. Thanks.
  14. I was unsuccessful in getting anything for those dates and my friend decided not to go.
  15. would like bidding advice for a Resort for Tucson, May 10-14, 2007, would like to get the Omni in the North Tucson zone although I know that can't be guaranteed. Would appreciate any advice. Thx
  16. I was successful in getting the Pan Pacific for $85 for July 2-5 and started bid for 4* USW starting at $70 and kept adding free rebids, when I got to $80 I added USE and bid $85 and ended up with the Pan Pacific Hotel. You might be successful - good luck.
  17. okay thanks. I think I will just stick with the plan and when it gets closer if I'm still not successful will try for a 3*.
  18. so which area do I bid for Venetian? Thanks.
  19. For some reason when I go to Hotwire, the "Strip" is not showing. It shows areas all around it, but not the "strip". Why would that be?
  20. Just as an update, I have tried again with no luck - going up to $82. I still have plenty of time though so will keep trying every 72 hrs. Let me know if you think I should change bidding strategy. Thanks for all of your help.
