  1. Expedia has the Sofitel for $229 a night for your dates. If you'd like to save more than $29 a night, feel free to ask for assistance prior to bidding. :)
  2. Congrats! You saved $100 off the hyatt.com rate of $205 for your night.
  3. In NYC, most of the hotel rooms are on the small side. If you absolutely need 2 beds, you should book directly with the hotel as priceline reservations only request a room for 2 people. You could contact the hotel following a reservation, but you would only be requesting 2 beds, subject to availability. (Basically, there is no way to guarantee a room with 2 beds with Priceline) If you still wish to try priceline and accept the possibility of receiving a room with just a queen or king bed, you can try the following (considering your current $199 reservation). Please ask any other questions prior to bidding. Select 4* MTW... Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $150, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* MTE... Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $150, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* UM/CPS... Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $150, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* MTW and UM/CPS... Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $165, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* MTE and UM/CPS... Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $165, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* MTW and MTE and UM/CPS... Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $180.
  4. On Priceline you are bidding on a particular star level, not a particular hotel. To learn more about priceline, check the following posts: I've never used Priceline or Hotwire and Don't bid higher on a specific hotel Since NYC is fairly small and the subway covers the city, would you be willing to stay in other areas, such as MTE or UM-CPS, or are you only willing to stay in MTW? Hotels in MTE are usually less expensive than MTW. We need more information about your previous bid to assist you. What was the star level and area of your first bid? Was it 4* $125 for MTW??In order to bid again during the 72 hours you will need to learn what areas in NYC are free rebid areas at the 4* level. You should be able to locate the 2 areas after reading Bidding again before 72 hours. We'd also need to know what is the most you'd be willing to spend on a hotel. Check the travel websites to get an idea of regular rates to make your decision. As an example, Hotwire has a 3.5* in Times square for $194 for your dates, so bidding $125 likely won't have success at the 4* level. Without this information, we may suggest prices too low or high for your dates.
  5. Welcome! First, Times Square isn't a Priceline area, so you'll have to let us know what areas would be acceptable. Typically MTE, MTW, and UM-CPS are the preferred areas. Check the map on Priceline and let us know what areas would be acceptable. Secondly, you will want to understand rebidding on Priceline before you start to bid. You should read the following post Bidding Again before 72 hours After going through NYC, you should be able to find the 2 areas that do not have 4* hotels.Once you're able to identify them, we'll be glad to provide you with bidding advice.
  6. GMTA = Great minds think alike. Did you book this property? If so, please list the rate you paid.
  7. Depending on how you bid yesterday, you will likely need to wait the 72 hours to try the following. Select 4* MTE... Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* MTW... Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously Select 4* MTE and MTW... Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $150.
  8. Welcome! This has been discussed in the General Hotwire Tips section: You can see the reported Hotwire hotels in our Hotwire Hotel List
  9. Welcome! If you are "hazy" about rebidding, you should read the following post Bidding Again before 72 hours It may not be the best to base your maximum on previous wins. On hotwire, MTE 4* is $219 and Times Square 4* is $285, so it may be hard to win a 4* for less than $150. If you'd like to stick with $150 as your maximum bid, we'd be happy to provide you with bidding advice once you are able to identify your 2 rebid areas.
  10. Welcome! On our Hotwire Hotel list it looks like it could be the Grand Hyatt New York. Hyatt.com rate is $225.
  11. Here are a few prices so that you can determine what you would like to set as your maximum bid. Hotwire has a 4* MTE Customer Favorite for approx. $210 (Possibly the Drake Swissotel) * Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, Spa Services, Business Center Orbitz has the Fitzpatrick Grand Central for $229 EasyClickTravel has a 1 Bedroom suite at the Beekman Tower for $183.82 Just let us know what areas of midtown you are interested in (MTE/ MTW/ UM-CPS) and what you'd like to set your bidding limit at. You may also want to read this thread to learn about free rebidding. After reading, you should be able to identify the 2 free rebid areas at the 4* level.
  12. Found this special and it looks like it is available for your dates: It's located at 7th Ave and 31st St. I'm not familiar with the NYU area, but it looks like you could take the Subway's 1 train from 34th st to Huston
  13. Here are a few threads to take a look at: I've never used Priceline or Hotwire, how does it work? DON'T bid higher for a specific hotel After you take a look through those 2 threads, let us know what your maximum bid would be and what star levels you are interested in. :)
  14. Sorry to hear about your upgrade. According to the review and the hotel's website, they offer a shuttle service which should be able to take you to the airport (if needed). I'd recommend calling to verify that they still provide this service, as the hotel is really on the far limits of the city. As far as the location is concerned, I-195 is undergoing construction currently which isn't helping with rush hour traffic. I have not stayed here, but I'd recommend requesting a harbor view room as the hotel is located directly next to the highway construction site. Google Photo Enjoy your stay.
  15. It's odd that you were rejected up to $70 for 12/17, the Hyatt Regency is only $159 directly. Something must not be working properly, even Hotwire is showing it for about $145. In your new thread: Are you planning on waiting it out or are you going to try some other location (i.e. Copley or Logan Airport)?
  16. Seeing how it is 3 weeks after that post, rates have since gone up. Please try bidding as soon as you can, and reporting back with your success/failure. This time, I'd suggest maximizing your free rebids by trying something like the following up to your maximum: 4 Star Downtown $45, if rejected... Downtown + Rebid 1 $52, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline Downtown + Rebid 2 $60, if rejected... Downtown + Rebid 2 + Rebid 1 $68, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline Downtown + Copley $75, if rejected... Downtown + Copley + Rebid 1 $80, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline Downtown + Copley + Rebid 2 $85, if rejected... DT + Copley + R2 + R1 $90
  17. Copley tends to be more expensive than Downtown on Priceline. I haven't seen Copley won for less than $75. That being said, it is likely that you will be successful under $100. For 12/17, the Colonnade's lowest rate is $159 and Sheraton's is $169. Here's one method to bid: Select 4* Copley.... Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $80, if rejected close browser.
  18. Alright, I would recommend bidding on both Downtown and Copley because of the accessibility of the 'T' subway in Boston. To begin bidding, please use the red link to PRICELINE found in the upper left hand corner of every betterbidding page. Select 4* Downtown... Bid $45, if unsuccessful add rebid area 1... Bid $50, in unsuccessful add rebid area 2... Bid $55, if unsuccessful close window and access priceline the same way as before Select 4* Copley... Bid $45, if unsuccessful add rebid area 1... Bid $50, in unsuccessful add rebid area 2... Bid $55, if unsuccessful close window If this doesn't work, we can either try $60 and up for the 4* level or we can start over at the 3* level (at different $ amounts). Be sure to keep us updated, and we'll assist if the above does not work.
  19. Welcome to betterbidding! Before we give you bid suggestions, you should become familiar with Priceline. Boston has 2 free rebid areas at the 3* and 4* levels. Please read this thread by thereuare: Bidding again before 72 hours. After reading, post the names of the 2 free rebid areas in this thread once you identify them. For a quick primer on Priceline, you could check I've never used Priceline or Hotwire to see how the service works. Once you post the 2 free rebid areas, I (or another BB member) will assist you with suggested bid amounts for your dates. :)
  20. Already has been discussed: Price differences between browsers and Different Hotwire Prices and Why Hotwire prices sometime changes during the day
  21. First, please use the RED link for priceline found in the upper left hand corner of each betterbidding page. Rates are cheap at the Hyatt Harborside and Hilton Logan, so you hopefully should be accepted. At the 4* level you have 2 free re-bids. Select 4* Revere - Logan Airport.... Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $50, if rejected close browser. If these don't work, come back and we'll work from there. If they do work, be sure to keep us updated. :)
  22. Congrats on your successful bid! Did you try bidding for both of your nights together before your two recent wins?
  23. First, please use the RED link for priceline found in the upper left hand corner of each betterbidding page. At the 4* level you have 2 free re-bids, please post what they are PRIOR to bidding (just to make sure you are using the correct areas). If you don't know how to find the re-bid areas, read: Bidding again before 72 hours This is my suggestion based on the $109 Hyatt regency rate and if you prefer to stay Downtown over Copley (which most visitors do). Select 4* Downtown.... Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone 1... Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone 2... Bid $55, if rejected close browser. If these don't work, come back and we'll work from there. If they do work, be sure to keep us updated. :)
