  1. Thank you! I booked the Manchester Grand Hyatt directly with an AAA rate since the all-in price was only $20 more for a King room (rather than chancing double beds) and the benefits of direct booking (cancellation, points, better chance of upgrade/amenities on arrival), but I really appreciate the help and the fast response!!
  2. Hello -- I'm looking at Hotwire 4/1/17 - 4/2/17; have been eyeing Manchester Grand Hyatt as a place that suits our needs. Googling the hotel shoes they do have "children's activities" (s'mores, family movies, "camp hyatt") -- are there other hotels this could be, or does this pretty much narrow it down? 4* Gaslamp-Convention, $179 FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Resort, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa services, Children's activities, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower And do you have a guess as to the one which is $155? FULL AMENITIES: Resort, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower Both of these are from EasyView -- I used the BetterBidding link (as always) to start my search. Thank you!!
  3. Amenities: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Self-service laundry, Internet access This is M-T-W between christmas and new year's. Prices were almost $10 cheaper a few days ago; unfortunately I didn't book then. It does look like prices are still increasing, as a $93 or $94 rate in USW is now at $99. As always, I used BB PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for all my searches and bids. Thank you for this great resource.
  4. For future reference -- although the St Francis and Sir Francis Drake are on the west side of Union Square, they are in the Hotwire Union Square East zone. It looks like the zone extends to the east side of Mason Street (one block west of Union Square). Looks like the Priceline map for USE extends just to and including the west side of Powell St, so still including St. Francis and Sir Francis Drake.
  5. FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom Thank you for all the great info here! As always, I used the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links for all searches and bids.
  6. Had tried 4.5* on Priceline over the weekend up to I think $125 (using Embarcadero, USE, USW, and SOMA) when this was on Hotwire at $127 - $130. Had decision paralysis about this vs. a 4* for less (I'd gone up to ~$100 on PL for 4*), and then was really peeved when this shot up over $200 on Hotwire last night. It came down again tonight and I decided to just book it rather than play with PL any more. Used BetterBidding PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for everything and, as always, deeply appreciate the great info I get from the threads and hotel lists. Amenities shown: Boutique hotel Indoor pool(s) Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Spa services Accessibility In-room accessibility
  7. Hi Jason -- can you please double-confirm that this was a 4* on Hotwire, not 4.5* ? It was recently reported here as 4.5* -- they may have changed it, but I want to be sure (I'm picking 4.5* now hoping for the Intercontinental rather than this one). Thank you! Andrea
  8. After reading sauvignonblanca's priceline win last week (win at $92 with Le Meridien, same time frame but 3 nights), I monitored Hotwire hoping to see prices drop a bit. Instead, prices ticked up today, so I kicked myself and started bidding. To help others calibrate, FD 4* on Hotwire had been sitting at $104 since last week, I think it was at $114 when it spurred me to bid, and is now showing $126. USW is showing $109. I started at $80 with FD, USE and USW and scaled up by $5 increments to start. At $90, I was offered a re-bid if I upped it to $113 (other thread's re-bid offer was $104). Turned that down and went with smaller increments, winning the FD Hilton at $102. Not thrilled as I like the Hyatt Regency's location better and the Hilton's ratings are worse, but I'm sure it'll be fine. I used BetterBidding's PRICELINE links for all searches and bids -- as always, really appreciate this resource.
  9. Started with 4* only (from $65 up to $85 IIRC) in Gaslamp, Downtown - Harbor Island, Mission Bay. Then dropped to 3.5*, added Hotel Circle and Point Loma, and started at $65 again. FYI for administrators: it looks like this hotel is not on the California hotel list for some reason. Used the oh-so-convenient links above to start HOTWIRE searches and PRICELINE bidding. Thanks as always for a great site.
  10. I've been trying this search in CPS, MTE, MTW, ESB, HK, MSG every once in a while for several weeks, generally starting around $100 and going up to $130 or so. Finally hit today at $125. I had a cancellable backup at the Doubletree Metropolitan; saved a total of $100 (which works out to an hourly rate of...not much). Started all my HOTWIRE and PRICELINE searches from the links here (and there were many) -- thanks for the great resource.
  11. My bidding was on Sunday, Jan. 29 -- sorry for the delay in posting. Started bidding at $60 for USE + USW + Financial Dist/Embarcadero, worked up by $3 increments, successful at $104. Used the BB PRICELINE links for all searches and bidding. Thanks as always for this fabulously helpful forum.
  12. Started at $125 (dreaming) with several zones (CPS, Chelsea, Empire State, MTE), got the Intercontinental for $150. Hotwire had a 4* MTE for $164 which matched this hotel's amenities, so I'm not surprised that's what I got. Would have preferred the Grand Hyatt for the subway convenience, but overall we're quite happy! Used the BB link, and as always, thank you for making it so convenient and for providing a great resource!
  13. Started at $60 in Downtown and got the Intercontinental at $90. Didn't use FQ (noise) or Convention Center (distance), although I was just about to add them and start lower again. This is Thanksgiving night to the following Tuesday, which includes a home Saints game on Sunday --prices on hotel sites shoot up starting Saturday (our 3rd of 5 nights), so I'm pretty happy. Used the BB links for all HOTWIRE and PRICELINE searches -- thanks for a great resource, and also for making it so easy to start new bids! ;-)
  14. Looking in CPS, MTW, MTE (our other nights are with points at the Grand Central Hyatt). Started at $80 and worked up to $115; total $147. At the same time, Hotwire had 4* Midtown Central (NS, fitness, restaurant, internet) for $126 ($158 total) and best guess is that's the Algonquin also. I used your PRICELINE links, and thank you as always for having a great, extremely informational site!
  15. Maybe it was only identified in the last few days, but it matches the W's features on the board's listing...
  16. you might be interested in this offer -- sign up for a credit card and get two free Hyatt nights. My husband just signed up and we're planning to use it in NYC this spring. There seem to be no blackout dates or restrictions (eg if a room is available, it's yours --- possibly limited to standard rooms, but that doesn't seem to be an issue for you). I have no vested interest in this, BTW http://www.mychasecreditcards.com/hyatt
  17. As you noted, that's an old rate. It is the Ellis-O'Farrell Garage and it's now $38/24 hours. http://www.eofgarage.com/html/rates.htm Try googling "south of market" parking for other options; there should be cheaper options within a few blocks' walk.
  18. Booked yesterday (10/28 Thursday afternoon), first bid, using USW, USE, and Embarcadero. With taxes, $94.xx. Possibly could have gotten it lower, but I'd tried Wednesday up to $85 without an accepted bid, same areas, and was short on time. I'm new to this site -- will use your PRICELINE link next time!
