  1. O.k, so there are few Nh hotels around Amsterdam but i think yours is the one that is close Leidseplein. This is one of the centers of Amsterdam for night life and for restaurants. Close to this location you have 2 of my favorite restaurants: 1. Cafe De Klos - They have great steaks and amazing lamb shoulder which is my favorite. 2. Castell - They have probably one of the best ribs dishes i have ever had. Highly recommended. Now in general Amsterdam is a small place so you can see a lot of it in a short time. There are some central locations that everyone go to like: 1. Dam Square 2. Red light district. I've marked a street on the map and this is the main location of the red light district. You have small streets that are coming out of the location i marked and there are other areas in the city which have it as well but that's the main location. 3. Shopping area. Again marked on the map. Those are the two main streets in Amsterdam for shopping. 4. Anne Frank House 5. Albert Cuyp market. Main Amsterdam market. Of course there are a lot of museums if you like that kind of stuff and you can find them all on the internet anyway. In General just walk around the city and you will see a lot of stuff.
  2. What kind of suggestions would you like for the city? Where to go? Food? What kinds of food do you like?
  3. No sure i can post other websites in here so i will not do it but google sites for hotel reservations and i'm sure you will see many of them.
  4. Good price but dont compare the regular price of priceline because it's always high. In other websites i found the same hotel for same dates for $323.06 (total stay) including tax and everything. You still saved $48.92 which is around 15%.
  5. Started from $40 with no success, went up to $45 and then to $50 and go the Genesee Grande Hotel. Never been there before but Tripadvisor has good reviews. Of course used the PRICELINE link from BB.
  6. This was the hotel amenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby Been trying to book a hotel using PRICELINE for over 2 weeks now with no luck. Then i saw this deal on HOTWIRE and decided to go for it. I checked several topics here regarding what hotel it can be with those amenities and saw that it is probably Inter-Continental The Barclay or the Grand Hyatt New York and both are great.
  7. Been bidding for over 2 weeks now on those dates on several zones like: MTE, MTW, TS, CPS and ES area. Bidding on 4* hotel and went up to $180 with no luck. Then today i found out that during this weekend there is an Auto Show in NY so that explains the reason for not getting a hotel. How far do you think i'm from actually winning a room?
  8. Congrats, amazing price for this hotel. I have stayed there last year and it was perfect. The location of the hotel is great as well. Enjoy your stay in NY.
  9. Congrats on your win. This is a good hotel and the price is not bad for this time of the year. About your question, you are 5 minutes walk from a subway station that can take you uptown. It's around 15-20 minutes subway ride from your place to Times Sq. Enjoy your stay in NY.
  10. Congrats. This is a great price for June in NY and a great hotel. I think that most of the hotels in NY charge for Internet access so it's nothing out of the ordinary. Enjoy your stay in NY.
  11. Hello isa, Usually this time of the year is starting to be more busy due to a good weather in NY. If you are set on the downtown financial district and the price of $157 is good for you i would go ahead and make the reservation in HOTWIRE. If you are looking for a lower price, which i am not sure that you will be able to get on those dates then you should keep trying PRICELINE. Just remember that the price you see now on HOTWIRE will not stay forever and by forever i mean it can change quickly and tomorrow you wont see it anymore.
  12. Yes, unfortunately PRICELINE takes the star rating that you want and use it as the minimum rating for your bid, if it finds something at a higher rating it will automatically give it to you and normally people are happy about it. Not much you can do about it except use HOTWIRE instead.
  13. It's never to early to bid. Some people are able to book a hotel by bidding long time before the trip and some are able to do it closer to the trip it self. If you know what you want and know your budget then bedding few times a week several weeks before the trip doesnt hurt one bit. From what i know there is only one 5* hotel that you can get by bidding from Priceline and it's located in the Times Square area. Personally i never saw someone win a 5* hotel so i cant really tell you what the price could/would be.
  14. Congrats. A very good price for this hotel and this time of the year. Enjoy your stay in NY.
  15. Congrats on your win. Tripadvisor has really good reviews of the hotel. Hope you will enjoy your stay in NY.
  16. Congrats, this is an amazing price for this time of the year. Enjoy your stay in NY.
  17. The NH Barizon Palace is actually in the city centre and not the museum quarter. I'm guessing you ask the question because you saw someone else win the hotel for a lower amount, well just because one person got a price doesnt mean that if you bid again you will get the same deal. Maybe they offered the last room for that price or maybe they are just full. There can be many reasons for that.
  18. Congratulations... You really waited for the last second to book it :) Great price for a good hotel. Enjoy your stay.
  19. WOW this is an amazing deal for this time of the year. Congrats and enjoy your stay.
  20. HOTWIRE has the Doubletree NYC Financial District hotel at $189 from what i can see. You should read the Tripadvisor reviews before booking it. Some of the reviews there are not that good.
  21. As i said, those dates wont be cheap probably, with that said you still have a lot of time before your visit so starting lower now can be a good strategy. I would say bid few times a week. One of the times try to get a lower price and see if you get lucky. The other times try around your budget. You can always check the Calendar of Wins here and see what other people won. This doesnt mean that you will be able to get exactly the same deal but you will know around what price you can get the hotel.
  22. Hello nmanatious and welcome, So let's start with the 5 nights thing. In my opinion it will be easier for you if you split your bids in to 2 or 3 nights in the beginning and the rest of the nights after it. Now you still have a lot of time before your visit so you can start by bidding on the whole 5 nights. This connects to your last question, it's never to early to bid. You dont loose anything by trying to bid few times a week and see if you get lucky. The zones you want to bid on are basically the most popular zones that people bid on, it's in the centre of NY with easy access everywhere. You are correct about the 7 free re-bidding zones, so if your maximum bid is $210 i would start from $170 and go up by $5 each time until you find something. Now you have to remember that NY usually has a good weather in May so more tourists are coming. I do believe that you will be able to book a hotel at your budget. Again, you still have a lot of time before your visit so my suggestion would be to start bidding few times a week to try your luck from now.
