  1. Sounds like it's time to pick up a telephone.
  2. This is a new hotel listing that I guessed on my own by the power of deductive logic. It was also the steal of the century. Because of graduations, every other hotel was $300+. Apparently the people who run conventions at Babson never got the memo. This hotel isn't really sold retail, so I guess they just pop rooms into HW when the convention side gets slow. 2* is an understatement
  3. Alicante, Spain is not on that list but they DO do NYOP bidding. Seems like it's an imperfect source but the best that exists for now. The Caribbean list does not include the Dominican Republic, but there are 7 NYOP zones currently in the DR.
  4. When you switch zones, remember to lower your bid price back to where you started at.
  5. Classic example of a reminder to check retail prices before you start bidding. With 20% off corporate codes easily available all over the Internet, you could have probably gotten the Travelodge for less money and it would have been refundable, to boot.
  6. Change it to 2 adults/1 child and it might be different.
  7. I've encouraged a number of my friends to spring up that Fairmont deal lately. It's pretty special. Mods, any LMT link we can click?
  8. You could also pay retail for the one night not available on HOTWIRE.
  9. You may want to book something refundable like this for now: http://www.booking.com/hotel/us/keefe-plaza.html
  10. Nope. The Palomar is not in that zone. The Palomar is also not an all-suite property.
  11. I'm pretty sure this is the Crowne Plaza Newton. Buying this hotel would be a great way to ruin your vacation.
  12. You may want to try lastminutetravel.com, where the hotels can be identified VERY easily.
  13. By process of elimination, you have to believe that zone only encompasses these two properties at the 3* level: Riu Caribe - All Inclusive Barcelo Costa Cancun - All Inclusive
  14. Be careful as some of the Paris zones put you a bit outside of the center of the city. Look up the Marriott Rive Gauche for example and decide if that's an acceptable location to be in. Depending on how you feel, St. Germain - Latin Quarter may not be a zone you want to bid in.
  15. Careful because the lower star bidding in the Downtown area will maybe put you in the Mid-Wilshire area, not as close to the bus station.
  16. Share your other bids! Doesn't matter if they're not as cool, I'd like to see them!
  17. That looks like the Hyatt Regency. Just look at the photos.
  18. $209/night. Retail was $411. I became a Hyatt Platinum from PL stays, and they honor my benefits. Here's to guaranteed room types, upgrades, and free Internet!
  19. I'm pretty proud of this effort. Retail rates were $350/night because of the Harvard graduation. It was going to be expensive to be in Cambridge no matter what. I assessed the situation and decided to split the bid. Won the first two nights at $155 and the last night at $209, for which I'm creating another post. It's safe to say that a 3.5* in Cambridge will nearly always be this hotel...
  20. Yeah, Cancun for example needs some love. I might do it tomorrow if I get bored.
  21. How do you notice these changes so quickly? Very impressed!
