  1. Pamela21, Thank you for the bidding strategies with the listed free rebid zones (?). I tried and failed up to $59 for Labor Day weekend. Will try again on another day. Express Deal is $91/night.
  2. Thank you so much for all the suggestions. We've decided to drive home instead of staying a night in Seattle.
  3. Thanks, thereuare. Going to that hotel will take us on a different route so that won't work. I guess I'll bring a tent on this trip.
  4. Hello Yellowdog, These are the things listed in the popped up window. 2-star Hotel in Auburn - Federal Way This Hotel features the following amenities: Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking
  5. Used the links to search. 2* below $50 is possible, but some of the reviews aren't very positive. With priceline bidding, do you think I can get a 3* under $50? Hotwire has a 2* hotel in the Auburn - Federal Way area for $42 with 75% recommended rate. 2-star Hotel in Auburn - Federal Way This Hotel features the following amenities: Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility What do you think?
  6. I'll be arriving at the Seattle Amtrak Station at 10:30 PM on 7/1/13. My car would be about 20 minutes away at 22nd Ave SW. I have a few options and need opinions. I can spend a night in Seattle in a hotel or in the car. I can leave Seattle and find a lower cost, decent hotel on the way to San Jose, California. 1) Will I be able to find a 2* and above hotel below $50/night in the Seattle area or that's just not going to happen? 2) Within an hour or so from Seattle, is there an area that is close to the freeway that people generally get winning bids below $50? Thanks.
  7. I was going to give up on priceline for this trip since I could book Hotel Maya for $120/night with free parking while I'm on the cruise. I saw vinsheer's priceline win and checked again at $65. Got the same hotel: 3.5* Long Beach Hilton Long Beach And Exec. Meeting Center. Used the PRICELINE link. I just saved money on the room but increased my parking fees. Sigh.
  8. I went up to $65 and failed for a 3* hotel in the Long Beach area. I'll be in the Garden Grove/Santa Ana/Irvine area on Sunday afternoon. I was going to stay in Long Beach so that I don't have to fight traffic on Monday morning. What are some good zones between Irvine and the port Long Beach for a 3* or above hotel at about $50 or lower?
  9. I've never gone over $65 for a room booking via priceline before. At this point, I think I'll be looking for a 3* room. If it's in the Long Beach area, I'd go up to $65. Else, I'll be looking at hotels between Santa Ana and Long Beach if the hotel can be had for about $45. Do you think that's feasible?
  10. I need 3 rooms for the Long Beach area for 1 night, 2/17/13 to 2/18/13. I placed bids starting at $58 for a 3.5* star hotel in zones 1, 2 and 3 with zone 2 being the free rebidding zone since I saw a winning bid at that price. I had gone up to $73 and failed. I thought the highest would be about $70. I don't want to go up to $95 like another poster. I'm now regretting not booking Hotel Maya at $85/night when they were having a sale last week. I thought I could do better with priceline. Backup plan: $120/night + tax at Hotel Maya with free parking while I go on the cruise. However, I need 3 rooms but will only have 2 cars. I feel like it's a waste to book the third room at this rate. At the same time, I can't book 1 room with priceline since all of us should stay at the same hotel. Please help.
  11. I have been trying to bid for 7/29-7/31 up to $70 for a 3.5* with many areas selected and failed. I went up to $67 for a 3* and failed as well. Counter offer was $84. I went up to $60 for a 3.5* for 7/30-8/1 yesterday and failed. After I had gone up to $70 for 7/29-7/31 today, I changed to $55 for 7/30-8/1 and got Double Tree on the first bid. So weird. Is there something going on this weekend? Used the PRICELINE link.
  12. I'm not too concern of where I'm going to be as long as I'm in between the Bodega Bay area and the Napa area. Looking at the recent wins, I started the bid at $47 for 3.5* in Santa Rosa. Using all the rebids, I went up to $91 and down to 2.5* since no 2.5* hotel is listed for this area (didn't include Fairfield, Napa, and Vallejo when I went down to 2.5*). I was rejected at $91 at 2.5*. :) Is there something going on this weekend that all of the rooms are sold out? Wonder if I should continue to use priceline or go with hotwire's 2.5* (with only 3/5 rating from Tripadvisor) in Rohnert Park for $69. I've never used hotwire. I'm not sure how hotwire's hotel rating compares to priceline's hotel rating. Also, I can't find the priceline's hotel list for Bodega Bay and Sebastopol. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  13. This Hotel features the following amenities: Complimentary Breakfast <amenity names only please... not descriptions> $69 We are still gathering reviews for this property. Thank you. ----------- Please don't tell me this is the Good Nite Inn that is listed as 2* everywhere. Also, Good Nite Inn's rate is $46 on the other site.
  14. 3.5* Long Beach (San Pedro) Crowne Plaza $65 for 2/20/11-2/21/11 Started out with $55 and increased to $65 after using the rebid zones. Use the link as promised. :)
  15. One night: 12/19/10-12/20/10 $65 So weird. I checked the prices before I booked with PRICELINE. Everything was from $90+. Canyon Plaza Resort's price is now $79. I feel like I shouldn't have bid at such high price. :)
  16. Thanks for all your help. I'm going with the Desert Rose Resort. Since I'm getting a better rate on the Desert Rose Resort website, I'm booking with them since I can cancel if something comes up. I'll use the links in the forum the next time I book via PRICELINE or Orbitz. Thanks again.
  17. I'm not looking for a hotel where we can gamble since most places are walking distance to a slot machine. This is not a business trip, and we'll be going to the Strip for sightseeing. We are planning on going to downtown for the Fremont Street Experience as well. We'll be commuting no mater what, but will be on the Strip most of the time.
  18. I did some search on Hotwire and found 3* Condo Near Strip East for $48/night. According to the other posters, it might be Desert Rose Resort. I wonder if I should just go with that. Desert Rose Resort $48/night Tuscany $29/night + $10/night fee Orleans $33/night + $5/night fee Which is a better deal?
  19. Hello yellowdog and MadFlyer, Thank you for your help. I don't mind too much as to what zone since we will be driving there. Star rating: 3+ (don't think I would like to stay at Hooters though). I can go up to about $50/night. I'm looking for something a little spacious. Thank you.
  20. I would like a nice, comfortable hotel, but I'm on a tight budget this year. I would like to know if you think I can get a better deal with PRICELINE. Currently available rate at multiple sites: Sam's Town ~ $29/night South Point ~ $49/night (saw winning bids of $29?) Tuscany ~ $30/night Gold Coast ~ $31/night Stratosphere ~ $33/night Thank you.
  21. Booked Courtyard through priceline and received credit.
