  1. I am not sure about the good breakfast, but there is a finance center building in which you can find many restaurant including a food court. I think you can try (it's just beside the hotel).
  2. I was a bit worried because they denied my request to reserve a room with two beds. However, when we arrived they gave me two bed room even before I mentioned it. It was a very large hotel and seems old but clean. We were given a room on the 8th fl. with a nice D.C. view. The structure of the room was little bit weired because there is a small room between the bedroom and the bathroom (it's because the hotel itself is round shaped). The Dupont Cicle area is very nice and safe. There are plenty of restaurants and shops. And we also saw Courtyard and Church Hill hotels across the street.
  3. I stayed one night at this hotel one year ago. It was a luxury boutique hotel. The people at the hotel were so kind and the interior and the exterior were fabulous. The bathroom was gorgeous. You can use free high speed Internet and the hotel privides free milk and cookies(not sure) around 11pm. I arrived at 1pm but I could check in without any problem. One negative side was parking. It's a bit expensive ($22 valet but not sure). I heard that there was cheaper parking two or three blocks away but I used the hotel parking for my convenience. I hope you enjoy the hotel and New Orleans.
  4. I just returned from my NYC trip. Everything was perfect except cold weather ^^. Checking in was smooth (I got a two-bed room). I could save two day parking fee because I used meter parking in front of the PATH station. The meter is not enforced during holiday and Sunday. I was lucky to stay this wonderful hotel with a budget price.
  5. I read that street parking during weekend is free. Is this correct? Also is self-parking $15? Thanks in advace.
  6. I've got Fairfield inn Baltimore north with $30 (12/24/04 one night). I wanted a clean hotel to spend one night. I am happy to find this hotel with the reasonable(^^) amount of money. I first tried $28 and failed. I've got counteroffer to raise $7 and ignored it since I saw a person got this hotel with $30. At the second trial, I got Fairfield as expected. It seems this hotel is good enough to spend one night (close to the highway).
  7. I won 3* Hilton Washington at Dupont area. Dupont Circle - Woodley Park 1919 Connecticut Ave Northwest Washington, District Of Columbia 20009 202-483-3000 Check-In Date: Thu, Dec 30, 2004 Check-Out Date: Fri, Dec 31, 2004 Your Offer Price: $42.00 Number of Rooms/Nights: 1 / 1 Subtotal: $42.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.05 Total Charges: $55.05 I don't mind paying parking fee. Here is my bidding history. First I tried 4* at Dupont and White House with $45: failed. Then add Springfield area and raise to $48: no hope. I decided to add 3* hotels. I tried 3* at Dupont with $40, no chance but I've got couteroffer to add $17, but turned it down. I started from the beginning 3* at Dupont with $42, and I got it. Thanks for giving me a good strategy. Could anybody tell me how good is this hotel?
  8. Actually I am also looking for a hotel to stay 12/30-12/31 (I am returing from NYC trip to my home Atlanta by car). Since I will be a little bit tired after the NYC trip, I want to stay in a comfortable place to look around D.C. including Whilte House and enjoy some night life. According to above comments, Dupont Circle - Woodley Park Area is the best choice for me. Could anybody recomment a reasonable price to bid on the PL 3* or 4* hotel.
  9. Thanks for your comment. You are right. The rate during the date is $219/night. But I still miss the super-duper cheap rate ($38/night). I'll try next time. BTW, is there any chance to get a room with a nice Manhattan view or Statue of Liberty?
  10. First of all, I'd say thanks for this site. I plan to visit NYC during 12/25 to 30 and the schedule is firm. Since almost everybody got Jersey City Hyatt with $38/day, I was so happy. However, it turned out I had no luck. I tried upto $56 w/o getting anything with 2* and 3*. I thought that's weired because it's not a Christmas eve and/or a new year's eve. I was so desperate and decided to take hotwire deal of $60/day (Hyatt Jersey city as expected). It's all set now. But could anybody tell me what was wrong with my bid? I first stated with $38 3* Jersey City. Then I included *2 and North-Bergen area. And I tried every combination upto $56. And I split the date. Since hotwire had deals of 3* $63 12/25-12/28, 3* $65 12/25-12/27, and 3* $160 (not sure the exact number) 12/28-12/30, I tried 12/28-12/30 and 12/27-12/30 to PL upto $45 with no luck. Finally I got counter offer to add $16 when I trired $56 and I turned it down. Waiting another 3days and raise bid upto $58 did not make any sense because final cost including tax and fee of PL ($58) is not better than hotwire ($60). So I took hotwire $60.
