  1. A steal at $35 - cheapest available rate directly from the hotel is $95. Tried so many times to get a 3* anywhere in San Diego but bids up to $70 have not been successful. Should be added to the hotel list (couldn't find it here).
  2. Promotions that are sent out by the hotel directly are in most of the cases cancelable - as per my experiences.
  3. Hi, first of all you should book this $129 room (if ithis offer is cancelable) as a backup solution. Secondly, this is already a great rate for this hotel but you can try to get it even cheaper but I have strong doubts that will get it for less than $100. You have plenty of time to give it a try. Have fun.
  4. Now it's working again ... strange.
  5. The site seems to be offline. Is it only me or has anybody else access to this site?
  6. The only hotel for less than $50 on Hotwire in the LAX area (next hotel is $62). Quite OK for me. Amenities are: Kitchenette and laundry. Should be added to the hotel list, because I couldn't find any 2.5* there so far.
  7. The Doubletree Airport Hotel. Sorry, I was so upset I even forgot to mention the name ... :)
  8. Got it at first try, not very happy with this win, though. Bid before for a 4* up to $48, lowered to 3* and $39 - bingo. Hotel charges $13 for parking which brings the total to $65 including taxes and fees. But since there is virtually no way to avoid hotels that charge for parking, I'll do the best out of it. Rgds, -Hank
  9. Thanks for your help ... maybe I'll give PL a try with a 2* bid ...
  10. The only 2.5* listed here is the Clarion, but this seems to be sold out on 1/27! Amenities are: - Airport Shuttle - Complimentary Breakfast - Pool - High Speed Internet 1 Mile to MCO. Wasn't able to get a 3* room thru Priceline, bid up to $50 ...
  11. Just came back from my stay at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City. First of all - it was really a steal and I don't want to complain about anything. Just some remarks: It is not true that every room has a view of Manhattan (either the South or the North). There are some rooms which do have no Manhattan view at all due to the non-rectangle shape of the building. On the right side of the hotel, there is some kind of ledge which prevents the rooms in the landward half of the hotel from viewing Manhattan. All you can see from those rooms is Ellis and Liberty Island. I called the hotel ahead and asked t
  12. You're right, the path remains the same (and therefore the possible delays, too) but it might be not as overcrowded as the A train. And, as another advantage, it goes straight to WTC, so I don't need to change the train in order to get to PATH.
  13. Hmpf ... you might have heard from the subway incident in Lower Manhattan ... http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/39314.htm http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/alert/alertnyct.htm Since I'll arrive at JFK and have to take the AirTrain anyway, what about using the "E" train from Jamaica-Sulphin Blvd to WTC, I guess this should work well, shouldn't it?
