  1. Bid history Ontario 3*...............................................................$42 rejected :o Ontario 2.5*............................................................$43 rejected :) Reset Ontario - Corona, Riverside West 3*.......................$44 rejected :) Added Riverside.......................................................$45 accepted :) Your offer price........................................................$45.00 Taxes and service fees.............................................$12.77 Total charges...........................................................$57.77
  2. I stay in this area frequently. This of the 3* Priceline hotels in this area, I always considered this at the bottom of the heap. However, the year 2006 brought a renovation of all the rooms on the property. I've also noticed they have improved the quality of the bedding. All in all, when the Hilton comes up, I no longer shrug at the thought. In fact, I now find it a rather nice place to stay. If available, request a poolside room. Access is easier, and if you should want to use the pool or whirlpool, you can access them through sliding doors to your own patio area. This hotel is the closest to Ontario Mills Mall and a bevy national chain type restaurants, some within walking distance. There is also a restaurant on site, though I have never tried it.
  3. Thanks for taking the time to post this. I know that I really apprciate the extra effort to share with our community.
  4. Start by using Savings Barn to link to PRICELINE. Ontario 3*............................................$40 rejected :) Added 2.5*...........................................$43 accepted :) Your Offer Price....................................$43.00 Taxes and Service Fees.........................12.49 Total Charges......................................$55.49 In the Ontario area, the 2.5* hotel is the La Quinta but I have not seen it accepted at this price level in over a year. That said, I safely use the 2.5* as a free bid. But if you should get the La Quinta, don't fret. I have friends who prefer this hotel and wish it would come up more often. Normally, you'll be upgraded to a 3*. I would advise not going below 2.5* in this area.
  5. Haven't seen this many looks for a hotel in Ontario in a long time. Must be the $4 room rate. Please correct the headline when you get a chance.
  6. This hotel hasn't come up much this year as it appears they have raised their minimum to $46. Last year it was $41. Two other 3* are lower priced in this area. I haven' t seen lower than $43 for a 3* in this area this year. I haven't seen a 2.5* come up in about a year in the Ontario area. Ontario 3*............................................ $40 rejected :) Added 2.5*........................................... $43 rejected :o Reset Ontario, Corona/Riverside West 3*..........$45 rejected :) Added San Bernardino/Riverside.............$46 accepted :) This is one of the nicest hotels in the area. It's been around awhile but the rooms have recently been renovated and all are nice. Remember to get your free, warm chocolate cookie at check in.
  7. I'm local to this area. Booking near the LAX will get you the best bang for the buck and is only a 20 minute drive to Santa Monica during off peak hours. But just a warning, traffic is usualyHope this helps miserable between LAX and Santa Monica during peak periods. Hope this helps. Thereuare can help you with bidding strategies.
  8. I had my buddy start at $40. He hit at $43. This is where the Marriott was priced during the latter half of last year.
  9. As a side note to this bid, I inadvertently bid the wrong weekend (the weekend listed in the title). When I realized my mistake, I called the Marriott and they graciously changed the reservation to the following weekend. So thank you Marriott for helping me out. Additionally, I have a friend bidding this same area. I have given him a bidding stategy to follow. If he gets a lower price, I will post a follow up with the new winning bid.
  10. I was in a hurry so I started bidding at this year's low price for the area and was accepted on the first try. However, this is not the hotel I expected for the price bid. Last year this hotel was hitting @ $43 if I recall. I would start @ $40 Ontario 3*, add Corona bid $43, reset, bid Ontario 2.5* $45. This should get you the Marriott or the Hilton if they have released rooms at their lowest price level. Your offer price...................................$45.00 :) Taxes and fees...................................$18.81 Total for two nights............................$108.81
  11. It was late when I booked that room. The address you have is correct. The first bid included two zones, Mission Valley and Sorento Mesa. The area is Sorento Mesa. I was going to edit my previous post but alas, there was no edit buttom that I could see. Please edit the post to reflect the correct information. Thanks.
  12. Bid Mission Valley / Sorrento Mesa 2.5*................................ $36 Rejected :) Added East County for free bid....................................... $40 Accepted :) Your offer price.......................................$40.00 Taxes and Service Fees...........................$16.90 Total Charges for two days......................$96.90 If you want Mira Mesa and are in a hurry, start with $38, then go $40 if rejected. If you have the time, you might try starting as low as $30 with $2 increases. There are plenty of free bids for this area. This is primarily a business district so weekends are usually available at a good rate. Hotels in this area are relatively new. Downtown is 15-20 minutes away.
  13. The Ontario Hilton is the only hotel to show up on Priceline in in this area for several months. I know more people probably view this site than post. But please post your results, especially if you get something other than the Hilton. Last year the Doubletree and Marriott were showing up regularly. These are definately the preferred hotels in this area. FYI, $45 seems to be the low price for the Hilton at this time. I have a network of friends who regularly bid this area and this is the best we have been able get.
  14. This hotel should be linked to the Priceline hotel list. You have linked it the Hotwire hotel list.
  15. I have been trying to find lowest pricing for this area. Apparently this is bottom pricing at the present time. Bid Ontario 3*...........................................................$42 rejected :) Added Corona...........................................................$44 rejected :) Added Riverside........................................................$45 accepted :o This is my least favorite or the 3*'s in the area, but the location is wonderful. Walking distance to four nice restaurants and down the street from Ontario Mills mall where there are plenty of dining options and two multiplex theatres . Of the Priceline hotels, this is closest to California Speedway in Fontana, about 4 miles away. About 2 miles from the airport. Last year the Marriot and Doubletree were coming up frequently. I haven't seen them yet this year. Remember to use Savings Barn to start your bidding.
  16. Thanks for posting your win. With regard to Priceline rooms, I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions. Despite the fact that this hotel recently had the rooms refurbished, it falls below normal standards of other 3* hotels. But it sure beats camping!
  17. Update on this Hotel. I had a friend bid the same dates starting at $47 in an attempt to hone in on the lowest price. His bid was accepted on the first try.
  18. I have stayed at this hotel many times since my original review. It is one of my favorites in the Ontario area. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable, televisions have always worked well, furnishings are first class, and the beds are very comfortable. The pool area and hot tub are in need of refurbishing, but the setting in the courtyard is inviting. Food at the restaurants is adequate and there are many restaurants close by. And, of course my favorite part is the warm chocolate chip cookie given to all guests at check in. When they ask how many guests in the room, I always say with a wink, let's see, there's me, my wife, the kids, uncle John and Aunt Mary, grandma and grandpa, all in hopes of getting an extra cookie for later. The staff is very friendly.
  19. Bid Ontario 3*.................................$44 rejected :) Added Corona for a free bid.............$50 accepted :) Taxes and service fees....................$13.38 Total..............................................$63.38 Rooms in this area have not been as easy to get lately. Last year bids of $41 - $43 routinely won. The price seems to be higher now although I haven't got to the bottom line price yet. In January I had to go to $65 to get a 2.5 star in this area. A friend of mine got the Hilton 3* for a weekend stay mid January for a $60 bid the day before her stay. My bids for the same weekend several days before and on several different occasions all failed at this level. The Doubletree was going for $41 last year, but hasn't come up yet this year.
  20. Bid Ontario 3*, $35 rejected :) Bid Ontario 2.5*, $41 rejected :) Added Riverside West-Corona, $43 accepted :o
  21. Started by going to Savings Barn for the PRICELINE link. Bid $41 on the first try. I was in a hurry so I didn't try anything lower. I have stayed here at least 4 times this year and $41 is the lowest I have been able to get. Last year I got this property for $30 on one occasion, so if you have the time, try lower. Although free bids seem scarce for Ontario since they combined Riverside West with Corona, I have never won a Riverside bid for less than $50. Ontario is usually less, so I use Riverside as a free bid zone meaning I can usually bid 4 times per sitting. Your bid price....................................$41.00 :) Taxes and service fees.......................$12.20 Total charges.....................................$53.20
  22. Last minute bidding for next day hotel. Bid Ontario 3*..................................$41 Rejected :) Got the add $12 one time offer Bid Ontario, add 2.5*........................$43 Accepted :) Your offer price................................$43 Taxes and service fees.....................$12.50 Total...............................................$55.50 This is one of the nicest hotels in the area, however room layouts are a little weird. Small lavatroy area is uncomfortable, even for one person. They make up for the bathroom shortfall with very nice bedding and pillows. But hey, for $55, what do you expect? Rubber biscuits?
  23. Tried to catch the bottom bid and thought I was going to get lower. Bid Ontario 3*............................................$35 rejected :) Got add $9 for a room. Now I'm chomping at the bit thinking I'll finaly get it below $41 which has been the bid point this year. Bid Ontario 2.5*..........................................$37 rejected :) Reset Bid Otario, Riverside west.............................$39 rejected :) Got add $11 for a room. Bid Ontario, Riverside west, Riverside............$41 This is their price. May as well start there. :o
  24. The price is probably higher due to the multiple day stay. If I understand it right, on Priceline, the bid price must be availible for all days of your stay. $41 seems to be the price I've been getting for single day weekend stays at that location. That price is not always availible on any given day. I usually start bidding 10 days or so in advance. With the new 24 hour rebid policy, it has been easier to not panic and bid too high. Just wait to the next day and try again. Sometime it takes several days, but $41 seems to be the magic number for a 3* in that area. The LaQuinta is a good one to try for but I haven't gotten it recently. It is a very nice hotel for a 2.5*. Warning: bidding 2* hotels or lower in this area is likely to result in a stinky, dirty room based on my experience even though they display brand name marques. Buyer beware.
  25. Price accepted on the first try today. :o Bidding the same amount two days ago failed. :) Your offer price................................$41.00 x 2......$82.00 Taxes and service fees...........................................$17.79 Total charges........................................................$99.79 :) As a side note, I have tried but have not seen this or any other 3* in the Ontario Airport area go for less this year. This seems to be the threshold.
