  1. This turned out to be a gem of a hotel, its right along the river, parking is only $4.00 and the rooms were nice and comfy. This hotel was formally a Sheraton, as could be read thru the Doubletree decals on the door placards. The location was great with a wonderfull shaded riverfront park right out back, within blocks is an amusment pavilion, an old brass ring carrosel, a waterfall, and a nice shoping center. :)
  2. One word, rundown. This Gem is one of the remaining Holidomes, My room had big stains on the carpet, and when I pulled the bedspread back there were shoe prints on the blanket. Clean Bathroom was the highpoint. This hotel sets at the end of the runways next to a masive construction zone. My first impression was Days Inn Quality, But its not even that nice. When I returned from a day a Six Flags, i found the sheets off the bed, no soap and no towels, this was at 6PM. When I called the front desk they agreed to send someone up. This finally happened somtime between 7 and 830 as I went out for dinner, when I returned the bed was finally made and I had towels, still no soap I had to shower with shampoo from my bag. The HoJo across the road looked much nicer.
  3. This one fell on its face, I got to Seattle and was told no Rangers available, was given a plain white Cavalear instead, to top off the screw up, I looked at my receipt upon check in to realize that they charged me for the full rental rate of the car for the week, on top of what i already paid Hotwire. Luckly I returned the car the night before my flight as I spent about an hour proving that it was a Hotwire rental and getting the 270 or so recredited to my Visa. Upon return home I notified Hotwire, yesterday I received an E-mail stating that Budget was sending me a $40 voucher for a future rental. :)
  4. I decided I would rather drive the 5 hrs to St. Louis Friday evening, instead of heading out at o'dark thirty. So I decided to bid 30 for the same area, and got the same hotel that I got for Sat Night for 5 bucks less, So it get two nights for 20 bucks more than one at the lowest Holliday Inn web rate.
  5. Got this one after several failed bids for 3 stars in and around St. Louis up to $50.00 Holiday Inn Airport North 4545 N. Lindberg Blvd St Louis Missouri 63044 lowest rate shown as 72.00 on Holiday Inn website.
  6. Heck in places like Chicago and Indianapolis, not only is Alamo and National the same company but the same lot and same cars, Having just a Debit card until recently it was the only way for me to rent, and at both of these locations my car was driven out of the lot with a national key tag and national licence plate holder and at EWH I was directed by a sign to the National counter. Avis and Budget are both owned by cendant along with Ramada, Days Inn, Super 8, and a couple other hotel chains. DollerThrifty is also a multibrand rental company
  7. This deal was 5.00 a day cheaper than a Compact at Alamo.com, and cheaper than any rate found on Orbits or Expedia. I know that when I bid compact truck, it will be a Ranger from Budget. This is a great deal for one or two people, you get the feel of an SUV for less than the Compact Car price My last one was a 4X4 Edge Plus.
  8. Wow, this is a popular hotel by what i see here, and i think i bid $5.00 to much, but it is still less than half the rate on the Doubletree Website.
  9. I thought the fact that it was named Doubletree CITY CENTER, made the zone self explanitory :) It is infact downtown.
  10. I bid 40 for a 2 1/2 star and was upgraded to three star. This Hotel lists for 90.00 on Expedia.com.
  11. Shuttle Resturaunt Fitness Center High Speed Internet Business Center .2 miles from Airport, lowest rate on Orbitz $74.00
  12. This was a decent Moter Inn for an overnight, better than the usual Econolodge or Days Inn, but not up to Best Western or Holiday Inn status, with large balconies and a very nice pool/spa area in the courtyard. Hotel could have been cleaner though, the plants in the lobby had lots of dead leaves laying on the ground and there were ants in my bathroom
  13. This was the nicest hotel of my trip. I had a clean 8th floor room at the far end of the hallway, the hallway was in need of new carpet but other than that very comfy what is better than setting in a Herman Miller desk chair, with a nice comfy Hotel Robe. Room was large, bed extra comfy, Only area resturants were the Hotel, Subway or Denny's this was the only real shortcomming. This hotel also has a VTA station right in front and it is with in two miles of the Airport.
  14. This Hotel was right at the Valley View road exit ramp North bound on I-5 I had a nice cean second floor Non smoking room, hotel was about three miles from Knott's and about a 10 min drive to Disney. Staff was friendly and courtious. Internet access was $9.95 a night. Room had big desk and comfy chairs. Only downside is that Hotel is in an Industral/Business park area with its limited services/ food choices.
  15. This was a nice hotel, attached to the convention center with VTA station at the front door, $10.00 to park. I was on the 9th floor in a King Non-Smoking room Internet access was 9.95. This hotel has feater matteress pads on the beds and triple sheets!!, I didnt want to get up in the morning
