  1. You can get the Aladdin for $59 using this link, which is available to anyone, and not a limited promo. MGM also has a $69 promo with a $35 dining credit available only to players club members. Technically you're supposed to receive an e-mail, however there are many people over at lasvegastalk.com who didn't receive the e-mail and booked it anyway without experiencing any problems whatsoever at check-in. I booked it after joining the players club and getting the e-mail a couple of weeks later.
  2. It's probably the Hyatt Fair Lakes. You should be able to get it for substantially less on Priceline, where it's the only known 4* in that zone. I would start at $45 and increase by $5 - you have 5 rebids.
  3. Welcome to BetterBidding. I'm getting $84 ($76 AAA). Was $70 your first bid?
  4. MGM has extended this promotion through November, although they've raised it $10 to $69. You're right, it is special, available only to their Player's Club members who have received an e-mail However I signed up for the Player's Club recently and got the e-mail soon thereafter. I just booked a stay using the promo where the next best available rate, which didn't include the $35 food credit + extras, was $179. This is clearly one of the best deals in Las Vegas right now.
  5. You should have much better luck waiting until after New Year's when the Holiday crowd has gone home. I would try for Miami - by far the most interesting city in Florida.
  6. If you could post your winning bid, that would be great. It's rare for that hotel to come up these days, so that information would be particularly helpful.
  7. Very likely yes. I would try them first - you can always go back to Hotwire if necessary.
  8. It looks like 10K each per r/t on AA according to their partner award chart.
  9. Do you have any United frequent flyer miles? You can get an intra-island round trip for just 5,000.
  10. This can't be right, as the hotel will be closed during your dates. You should have been given new confirmation numbers - a Westin one and a Holiday Inn one. Just go directly to the hotel where you have the reservation.
  11. 36 minutes to Federal Triangle, the closest station to the White House. From the WMTA Trip Planner: FRANCONIA SPRINGFIELD METRO at 8:04am BLUE LINE towards LARGO TOWN CENTER METRO STATION FEDERAL TRIANGLE METRO STATION at 8:40am The Metro stops at all stations enroute - there are no non-stop or express trains. Driving in during non-rush hour periods should be about 15.
  12. Springfield is just 10 miles from DC. It's true that it may take up to 45 minutes in rush hour traffic, although you could time your trip to avoid that, or take the Metro. There are no 3*'s in this zone, and for a 2* I would start at $50.
  13. $189 on Marriot.com. JW Marriott also $189 Often one can get a 4* in DC on the weekends for $75-80, but there must be something going on this weekend. The Grand Hyatt is sold out, and the Omni rates are on steroids: Daily Rate (per room): 2000.00 US Dollars per night Rate Description: RACK RATE Room Description: CLASSIC ROOM TWO QUEEN BEDS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daily Rate (per room): 2000.00 US Dollars per night Room Description: CLASSIC ROOM ONE KING BED Nevertheless, I think I would have waited until closer in before bidding $130 given those $189 rates. The Mayflower is a really nice hotel though.
  14. Unfortunately, all the recent winning bids in the $50-$60 range in the zones you're interested in appear to be weekend stays only.
  15. Oh, and I forgot to say that it includes a $25 dining credit and 50% off spa passes, among other things: Summer of Fun! Summer of Fun values are: $25 dining credit*, 50% off Spa mandalay facility passes**, 10% off of all Spa Mandalay services**, and $5.00 Shark Reed admission with purchase of an adult ticket after 5pm
  16. Mamma Mia!!! I just booked the Mandalay Bay for 8/29 on Orbitz for just $20 ($28.37 w/taxes & fees). Must be a mistake, as it's $199 on Mandalaybay.com. Looks to be good for that one night only, but perhaps there are other available dates out there.
  17. My sense is that you're starting point should be about $60 for a 3*. What is your maximum?
