  1. I just returned from the Scottsdale resort and wanted to express my opinion. After reading many posts on this board about people not wanting to get this resort I was wary of my stay here. I have to say that we were very happy once we arrived. There is a $19 resort fee per day but that covers the valet parking, 2 hour bike rental, in room wi-fi, 1 hr tennis court time and several other items. We were given 2 for 1 coupons for the breakfast and brunch buffets as well. We received more benefits for the resort fee here than at many other places we have stayed. I was happy with the size of the room, the staff, the hotel setup, the free pool tables in the bar and the pool area. Not sure why others do not want to stay here as we would gladly come back. I have stayed at the JW Marriott and definitely like it there too but I would not balk at getting the Scottsdale Resort next time I'm in the area.
  2. I've had to do this before and as long as the hotel is Ok with it should not be a problem. Priceline doesn't have any say once the bid is accepted so it's up to the hotel. Just get the name of the person who you spoke with in case there is an issue when your friend shows up. I wouldn't worry about it though.
  3. $80 Rejected so I added a zone and increased my bid by $1 Scottsdale Resort And Conference Center Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $81.00 Subtotal: $162.00 Taxes & Fees: $29.56 Total Charges*: $191.56
  4. I was looking through the Orange County and Los angeles coupopn listing and Priceline is not listed for either of these areas. Are these hidden coupons or only available in some areas?
  5. For Priceline quotes look for the specifics listed below: Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $70.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $140.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $27.64 (USD) Total Room Cost: $167.64 (USD) These give a complete breakdown on cost except for any resort or parking fees unless specifically mentioned.
  6. I was afraid the JW Marriott would not come up again on this bid like it did for the 1/27-1/30 bid for my Dad last week. I knew other Resort properties were coming up at lower bids (Renaissance $65) so I didn't lower my bid. Fortunately my gamble paid off! :) Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $70.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $140.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $27.64 (USD) Total Room Cost: $167.64 (USD) Used the PRICELINE link. As the FAQ says do not bid expecting to get a specific hotel. I was hoping for the JW but would have taken anything in the Resort category that came up without a complaint.
  7. They are just showing you the "value" you are getting for your $24 resort fee. Like Thereuare said the resort fees are charged no matter what rate you have paid for your room or how you booked it.
  8. Their lowest rate is a "Leisure Rate" which states: Leisure rate, a resort fee applies, see Rate Rules The rate rules however do not say what that fee is: Leisure Rate Various resort property views including the front drive, tour lobby drive, hotel parking, some golf and mountain views. Standard rooms do not have pool or lake views. Views will be assigned based upon availability at the time of check-in. The daily Resort Charge includes the following Self parking, High Speed Internet Access, local call, evening refresh, bottled water, use of Spa Fitness center, The Greens 18 hole putting course, lawn games and golf bag storage. Total value is $68.95
  9. 10. Oh yeah, nice fluffy robes (2 of them so we don't have to fight over it).
  11. That's why I also like teh in room liquid soap. A quick wash in the sink and all is good. I am usually more concerned about the bedspread. :)
  12. I like real glasses as well. It feels less Motel 6 with glass. I really like the shower curtains that arch away from the tub and give more elbow room. I'm thinking of getting one for my house.
  13. It looks like they split Scottsdale into North Scottsdale and Scottsdale. Is this new or did I miss something?
  14. Won after trying other areas listed below for reference. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $55.00 Subtotal: $55.00 Taxes & Fees: $14.40 Total Charges*: $69.40 Bid up to $55 and rejected for a 4* in the following areas before adding Convention Center: Fremont St Las Vegas Airport Las Vegas Strip North Las Vegas Strip South Las Vegas Strip East West of Strip
  15. 1st bid $85 2nd bid $95 Won at $100 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $100.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $100.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $22.28 (USD) Total Room Cost: $122.28 (USD) Use PRICELINE link
  16. Welcome to BetterBidding.com troll. Oops, I mean Tom4. :)
  17. Won on the 1st bid so lower price might be available. Unfortunately there are no 2 1/2 star free rebids for Orange County. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $75.00 Subtotal: $225.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $36.77 Total Charges*: $261.77 Ayres Suites Mission Viejo 28941 Los Alisos Boulevard Mission Viejo, California 92692 949-455-2545
  18. I forgot to put that in my post. I did use the links. :)
  19. I decided to add a night to my previous Priceline Win because 2 nights in Venice just isn't enough. They still offered the add a night feature on my original win. Adding 8/26-8/27/09 $120 Bid- Counter offer of $137 (I refused) $125 re-bid- Accepted Your Offer Price: US$125.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: US$125.00 Taxes and Service Fees: US$21.95 Total Charges: US$146.95 It is $5 more than we paid originally so not too shabby at all.
  20. FYI: The website says $12 parking per day for self park.
  21. Booked for tonight. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.66 Total Charges*: $58.66 Used the PRICELINE link as always.
  22. I am really excited about this! We are going to Europe for 3 weeks and this is the first hotel we have booked (It is also for the last 2 nights we will be there). Started at $100- Rejected $110- Rejected $120- Accepted :) Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$120.00 Subtotal: US$240.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$35.98 Total Charges: US$275.98 Used the PRICELINE link
  23. Bidding for my Dad while he is out visiting. It sounds like a nice place and is close to Laguna Beach which is great. Originally I tried for a 4 in Dana Point hoping for the Marriott Laguna Cliffs but was rejected up to $100 Changed bidding to Laguna Hills- Mission Viejo $50- Rejected $55- Rejected $59- Rejected $60- Accepted Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00 Subtotal: $120.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $22.96 Total Charges*: $142.96 Used the PRICELINE link.
  24. So I tried to get an upgrade by placing $20 on the counter and asking if they had a suite available. I was told that they did not because part of the hotel was closed because of how slow they were. He apologized and waived the $42 per night :) parking fee. I did tip him for that. Thereuare: If possible can you add the $42 for parking to my original post so people are aware? Thanks!
