  1. Using the HOTWIRE link. Checked the list on here and cannot figure out this place. $91 2 Stars Central Waikiki Amenities: Suite, Near Beach, pool, restaurant, laundry facilities, high speed internet, tennis nearby, kitchenette I would guess Hokele Suites in which case I might as well book directly for $89 (I'm Kamaaina).
  2. Used the PRICELINE link. This took me a few days to get for a 1 night stay on 11/25-11/26. I started to try to book the 3 star hotel in La Mesa starting on 11/22 at $30 and ended up at $45. I switched around a few time with the 2.5* and 2 * hotels too, but never got them. I am very happy with this choice and can vouch for it. I lived walking distance from this hotel and it is next to the Kaiser for my doctor's appointment (why I'm going back). This is in a great location, is a nice hotel, and is a great value. The cheapest I found it was for $109 (taxes included). That's around a 54% savings. $58.12 with tax Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.
  3. I used the PRICELINE link to bid. I initially low balled for $38 to see if I could get a hotel in the area, but was rejected. Two days later I rebid for $45, won, and got the hotel with tax for $58.12. A little disappointed since I was hoping to get the Courtyard in Solana Beach (it's in my favorite area and has free internet), but for one night it's fine and got good reviews. Internet is $10 :) I just keep telling myself that it is still a good deal (I'm frugal and also just working part time at the moment).
  4. I used the PRICELINE link and made a bid of $82 a night for 2 nights from 6/19-6/21 and got the Hyatt Regency Incline Village Resort. I did this last night. I made that bid due to that being the lowest price that I have seen other people on here get for that property. I should have read more about the resort on here though. I just realized AFTER my purchase that the Hyatt charges $21 a night extra for a "resort fee" (for parking, the lake, a gym, and the internet). Priceline should have listed that being a fee before others purchased it. I emailed Priceline and they stated that it is listed in the contract page..... I am the kind of person that reads the fine print and I didn't see it mentioned. I emailed them back saying to copy and paste where it mentioned the resort fee and that since they won't refund, I would appreciate a $42 Priceline credit that I could use towards other purchases. Worth a try right? I found what Priceline did to be very sneaky. I now have to spend an extra 25% a night that I didn't intend to spend. I would have rather have stayed in a non resort with no fee like this. I don't intend on using the gym, using the lake (probably too cold), or using the internet during my stay. I doubt if I contact the hotel that they would give me vouchers or something to make up for the $42 since it really isn't the hotel's fault. I paid with my America PRICELINE EXPRESS and I am considering contacting America PRICELINE EXPRESS to not charge me for this. This experience has really upset me.
  5. Used the PRICELINE link. This is my first time using Priceline ever where they actually accepted my price! I usually always use HOTWIRE, but the hotels that seem to be the ones on there for my price range aren't really ones I would want to stay out. Thought PRICELINE would reject my offer, but they didn't. Got 2 nights here for a total of $110.82. I am happy with this hotel. I need access to a mini fridge because I am on a strict diet and need to store fish there LOL. Thanks again BetterBidding! Oops! It was a 3 star. Sorry!
  6. Got this hotel just for one night for a place to sleep due to having an interview in San Diego County. Paid through Hotwire for $66.34 with tax. Pretty good value considering what I got with the price. With parking and having to pay to upgrade to 2 beds, ended up really costing $95.09. Pros: Location-There are so many cool restaurants and bars within walking distance. Borders is like half a block away so if you just want to browse books, go in there. Free WIFI- Had a strong signal. Breakfast Buffet- Offered from 6:30-9:30 and was pretty good. Free scanning- Had to have 2 pages scanned and it's all free. Price- Good value for what it is. Cons: Room size- They have everything you need for a hotel in the room, but it is all so cramped together. Next to the other double bed is the bathroom sink. I ended up getting sheets on that bed a bit wet from washing my face! WIFI- My dad couldn't log on with his laptop and kept getting an error due to too many subscribers or something. I had to call the technical line for assistance to allow him to go on. Very nice person, but took maybe 20 minutes. Air conditioning- Super loud unit! Getting 2 beds- Okay this kind of sucked but it's more due to just taking a risk and going through Hotwire. Since I came with my dad and we don't have a relationship that the father and daughter had in "Precious", we wanted 2 beds. We had to pay $20 extra to upgrade for 2 beds so in truth the room cost $86. 34 for 2 people. Pros or Cons Depending on How you View Things: Parking- Parking here is $16 a night. I admit though that I don't know of any hotels in the Gaslamp District that has complimentary parking. I just didn't figure that on top of what I paid on Hotwire that I would have to pay for parking. Not worth it for the free breakfast (or $8 per person breakfast depending on how you look at it). Mattress- Super, super firm. Not a fan of them this firm, but my father who chaperoned me on this work trip seemed to sleep like a baby! Location- Although this worked for a 1 night stay during the week, I probably wouldn't stay here on a Thursday-Saturday night stay because of the noise on the street. But if you are someone who will be out all night, probably not a factor. Tip: I didn't pay for the hotel parking lot since I found a metered spot right next to the hotel. Parking there is free between 6PM and 8AM. To save a few bucks, we just did that. If you are only going to be here very briefly, you can save money this way. Comes to $1.25 an hour. We paid for the spot from 3PM-6PM (but went back at 5:00 to feed the meter since it's 2 hour parking), and then from 8AM-12PM. This probably would be an inconvenience though for those that want to explore San Diego. We just needed a place to sleep for the night and for me to change in interviewing clothes. The meter ended up costing altogether $8.75. Had we not lucked out though with just randomly finding the spot so close, we would have just shut up and paid the extra $ to be in the parking lot. Come with plenty of quarters since the hotel would only give me $2 worth of quarters since they seemed kind of ticked off that I didn't pay for their parking LOL. Final Opinion: Would I stay here again? If the pricing was around the same, yes. Through Hotwire and paying for the extra bed I probably saved $59.90. Otherwise I probably would stay more in Shelter Island or some place a bit more quieter. However if I wanted a night out on the town with friends, this is probably the perfect hotel.
  7. Used the HOTWIRE link and got the room for $54 on Tuesday, August 10. Came to $66.34 after taxes. Amenities listed: Complimentary Breakfast Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access See my review for my experience. :)
  8. Oops. Cannot edit the title! Anyway got this from 7/28-7/30 at the Royal Kona Resort. I used the HOTWIRE link. The amenities: Oceanfront Smoke Free Rooms Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Tennis Nearby Spa Services Got 2 nights for $177.33. The cheapest I found it not using HOTWIRE would have been on Orbitz with a 5% off coupon code costing $114.67 per night totaling to $246.69. Thanks for saving me $69.36 BB! I use this site all the time!
  9. Stayed here for 4 nights in October of 2009 through the use of the HOTWIRE link and of BB. Loved this hotel. It is so historical and classy. Included amenities were a newspaper each money, free internet, and the business center. They had a parking lot with in and out privileges. I think it was $17 or so a day. That was annoying, but considering how little I paid for the hotel, it was worth it. The other 2 well known hotels in town charge the same or more for parking. Such a charming hotel. I think people there were taken back that I (a 25 year old female with bright red hair) could afford to stay here, but no one treated me poorly. Location was pretty good. You are a 15 minute walk from 4th street LIVE (not really anything great imo) where there is a post office, bars, pubs, the tourist center, drug store, and some restaurants. Right next to the hotel are some little restaurants and cafes. If you make a left out of the hotel, the area isn't the best IMO. I walked the supermarket at 7PM (pitch black) and the area at night to that side seemed very sketchy. You are also a 25 minute walk from Museum Row and where the theater groups are. Nice walk during the day, but I wouldn't do it alone at night. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was overpriced and not that great IMO. Never had the hot Brown which I regret :) Would stay here again though. It just felt like a classy southern hotel which I have never experienced before. However if the Seelbach rate is around the same as The Brown, I would try that out as the location is even better.
  10. I stayed here for a few nights in September of 2009 through booking with HOTWIRE with the use of BB. Really liked the hotel. Free parking, free internet, tiny pool but on the roof overlooking the lake, friendly staff, and free business center. You also get the complimentary airport shuttle which is always nice since I make use of that. Oh they also have a free screening room with movies you can have them play. Free popcorn too! It is only 2 miles or so from UT and near Barton Springs. Good location. Just wish it wasn't directly on IH 35, but didn't have a problem with noise. I think you can walk to 6th street from here, but it's a long walk. Didn't walk anywhere from here since you pretty much are walking on a tiny street adjacent to the freeway. Keep in mind that although it is right next to Lady Bird Lake (they aren't using the name Town Lake anymore), you are at the side that no one uses. I walked there and I mean no one was there. Staying here again in April for 4 nights since I am going to 2 job fairs. Looking forward to my stay again.
  11. Used the HOTWIRE link to booked. Stayed here before by using the website and I was pretty happy with the hotel and location. Amenities: Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Booked 4 nights from 4/4-4/8 for $65 dollars a night. Came to (with taxes) $305.21 so with taxes it really is $76.30 a night. Decided not to risk the hotel by trying out other parts of town and hotels that hadn't yet me confirmed (only like using HOTWIRE if I am certain ahead of time I could figure out which hotel I got. I will start writing reviews on here. I love this site.
  12. I used the HOTWIRE links. These are the amenities listed for the 3* 79 a night hotel in Southwest Austin: Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast High-speed Internet Access
  13. :) Hotwire is doing site maintenance now so I can't check. I will post it ASAP.
  14. I use this site all the time and went through past posts on here, and the hotwire list. Any ideas???? I just copied the amenities from memory so the exact wording isn't correct, but you get the idea 4/5-4/8 3 star $79 Austin Southwest Hotel No smoking Breakfast Internet 2 star $43 South Austin- Airport Area Hotel Fitness Laundry 3 star $67 South Austin- Airport Area Hotel Breakfast Fitness Pool Laundry Internet (NON-SMOKING isn't a choice so it isn't the Holiday Inn Express)
  15. Just bought 4.5* Louisville downtown with supporting HOTWIRE link $94 10/13- 10/17/09 @ The Brown Hotel This hotel features the following amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby This is the second time I have used hotwire with the help of betterbidding.com and it has been correct each time. 16. I made the reservation for 66.00 USD for Sept 3, 4, & 5 (three nights). I used the HOTWIRE link Amenities Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Sept 3, 4, and 5 Hotel rate per night - Hotwire hot Rate: $66.00 Nights: 3 Rooms: 1 Subtotal: $198.00 Tax recovery charges and fees: $34.37 Total price: $232.37 Total charges to your credit card $232.37
  17. Just scored this and very happy :) !! I love you betterbidding! Got the hotel I wanted! I had originally kept going on priceline to get a 4 star hotel, but gave up. I like how Hotwire lists the amenities and gives you more of an idea of what the hotel will probably be. Anyway the details: Amenities Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Sept 3, 4, and 5 Hotel rate per night - Hotwire hot Rate: $66.00 Nights: 3 Rooms: 1 Subtotal: $198.00 Tax recovery charges and fees: $34.37 Total price: $232.37 Total charges to your credit card $232.37 I just hope we are able to get 2 beds (I am going with a friend of mine) and a lake view. I was curious and went to sidestep to see how much this would have cost had I known the hotel ahead of time and the cheapest I could find was 176 a night through easyclicktravel.
  18. Wait on second thought the 3.5* I think is the Hilton Garden Inn because the Radisson does not have a fitness center.
  19. First of all, GREAT WEBSITE!!! I have never used HOTWIRE before. These are the amenities I saw listed for each star during these dates: 4* $103 a night with these amenities: I am guessing from the pinned list Hilton Austin, Omni, or Hyatt Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access 3.5* $79 a night with these amenities: I am guessing the Radisson. I did not see the tennis racket. Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access 3* $66 a night with these amenities: All sides lead to Holiday Inn Town Lake. Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access All say Best Value Once I pay, I will share the info with you all :)
