Yesterday I goofed off and tried for only So.B & Mi.B;no luck of course for a cheap 4*!LOL I almost replied saying I thought(guess they were different zones than dwtn Miami) I had used my bids for the next 3 days, but decided to try anyways. Did $41, PL came back saying to raise it by $12, but I followed what the other person did. Added SW Miami and raised the bid to $46. I GOT IT!! I went through www.savingsbarn.com Now I need my 1 night post-cruise stay probably near the airport as our flight leaves at 8 am on Jan.31st. I will be looking for a shuttle ,heated pool, clean place. Thanks for all your help!!!(I am still working on my PL Seattle 1 night for Nov.26!) When would you recommend me phoning the Hyatt and requesting a Nonsmoking;dbl.bed room??(I will enquire re:water view when we check in?).

kman, Please let us know if you get this hotel and what it is. I wouldn't mind staying in a nice,quiet South Beach Hotel for that price.(We are a family and like the Beach being close by;not into the nightlife though!lol). Thereuare-that is a great idea about buying 1 night and then you can see if that is where you want to spend the next night(s).

Hi I ,too,have been trying Jan.21&22/05 for 3*downtown Miami. I am not too worried if I do not succeed with Priceline as I have plans to use my Airmiles for the 2 night stay(or my grocery points&cash). Would really like to get a nice 3*=Hyatt!! for my stay. Thereuare told me to keep trying until the end of Oct.(?) and then we can rethink bid price etc. The 2 free rebid zones for 3* Downtown Miami are currently:North Miami and also Southwest Miami(they currently have no 3 or 4 *Hotels). I like having 2 windows open during my tries. Open savingsbarn to get to Priceline to do my bid, and also another Priceline window to ONLY look at the zones ratings-just in case Priceline has recently put in a 3 or 4 *Hotel in North Miami or SW Miami. Good luck. (I was excited when I saw your happy face-thought you got a hotel!!- thought there was hope for me!))

Wow! The Fountainbleu for $70!! I wish I could get that Hotel for that price in January/05!(Showed the kids the photos-fabulous place!)

I just did my first PL proper bid.3* Dwntn Miami, 2 nights=Fri.Jan21 & Sat.22/05 for $38; then tried adding SWMiami and $41;then adding NorthMiami and $43. No luck. I have heard of people getting the Hyatt Miami(which looks/sounds quite lovely) for $38 Dwntn, but I realize I am coming there during high season. What do you think would be a suitable bid price? I am in no rush yet. Also, what do you think about splitting up the 2 nights into 2 separate bids? Thank-you for your help. (I will also be going to the Seattle section for bidding on 1 night at U.S. Thanksg.time.)This is all new to me, but I think I am understanding it now. I have not got a backup cancellable hotel yet for Miami.

I am a Newbie and I think I know of which site you speak. I agree with Wishful who said what even I figured out from my few visits. Thereuare has posted on the cruise board I mostly frequent. He seems very nice and helpful. I will be posting soon for help after my first lame attempt at PL. Glad to be here and not there!
