  1. Used the PRICELINE link from here, and started with $46 for a 3.5* Midtown and was rejected. Noticed Galleria 3.5* was listed as a good buy so dropped to $44 and was successful.
  2. Used PRICELINE link from here. Started at Tysons Corner, 3.5* at $42, added Fairfax, then Springfield (no 3.5 star) to get the $47 on 3rd try.
  3. Using your link to PRICELINE, I started at $49 and was rejected. I added Camp Springs, went to $53 and was accepted. Marriott then gladly made sure 3 of us have 2 queen size beds.
  4. I started at $37 2 days before and was surprised to get it first try. I called and they gave us 2 outstanding adjoining rooms. I couldn't be happier about the experience.
  5. On fourth try, I booked one night at the 3 star Doubletree Hotel Charlotte - Gateway Village on Priceline for $51, May 10-11. I started by using just Downtown, at $45. I then incremented by $2 by using Pineville, North Charlotte, and Rock Hill which do not currently have 3 star hotels. Thank you again for this site.
  6. After seeing the note about $53 on 10/8 being accepted, I started at $50 and was rejected. I upped to $53 and was successful, for 3 rooms at $53 per night. Wow. Thanks, Frugola.
  7. The stay was everything I could ask for at the hotel - 2 nice rooms as I requested, and 2 enjoyable Oriioles games to boot (we got 4 baseballs from batting practice and a BUNCH of autographs!). The rooms were immaculate and the staff very helpful. I parked in the city lot for $22.50 for the 2 days instead of $25 a day for the valet. The Starbucks inside kicked us off to a nice start in the AM. We were very satisfied with the experience on a very busy weekend in the city for $93 plus.
  8. Ah, having just won a bid in the Inner Harbor, after MANY bid attempts over 2 weeks. I still know the locations by heart... These zones which have no 3 star hotels... North, Southwest, West, and Hanover. If looking strictly 4-star, ANY other zone can be added because only the Inner Harbor zone has a 4-star, Hope that helps you.
  9. fyi, regarding my request that I posted just before yours... When I called the hotel to try and get 2 double beds, non-smoking, I was told that the Priceline default is smoking there, and he put a comment on the reservation noting that I want non-smoking if at all possible, with 2 doubles preferable if there is still n/s availability. Thought you might want to know if that's not what you prefer. I hope this works out well for us.
  10. Oops.. sorry I confused you.. I only added 2-star zones to the search - I didn''t request a 2-star - only a 3-star all along.
  11. I started by requesting a 3-star at the airport at $37, also rejected after adding Glen Allen at $40 (that took a few minutes for a response) then upped to $43 and $45 using 2-star zones. I saw the topic about someone getting West End Sheraton, so I added West End (not one of my 2 target zones) and DROPPED my price a dollar to $44... and got it. Suspect a dollar or two lower may have done it but am quite happy anyway. Need n/s with 2 beds - will follow up on how that goes. Your Offer Price: $44.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $44.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.00 Total Charges: $56.00 Keep up the great work - I for one really appreciate this site. Oh, I've been using Savings Barn all along - 3 reservations now.
  12. I tried to get this Monday 7/12, when I started at $85, went to $105 in 4 steps, and still got nothing. I'd previously started at $65, gone to $85 and got nothing. Today, I started at $85, added a zone and was accepted at $93. I guess trying 1 week before came up with something. The Orioles have games those nights, so I suspect that's kept the prices up. I see mixed reviews on the website. Also, I called the hotel directly and requested non-smoking rooms with 2 beds. I'll report back later those things. Incidentally, I mis-typed the 3-digit credit card access code, so I knew they'd accepted at $93 because it told me at that point that the charge could not be processed. I quickly corrected it and got it. Your Offer Price: $93.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $372.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $59.22 Total Charges: $431.22
  13. Interesting post, thanks... With the area as quiet as it was, we were wondering how they could keep such a big place going after the game comes and goes. There could not have been 30 vehicles in the parking deck. On the other hand, at least for now it makes for a good bargain knowing that they're not too likely to have a full hotel on a given night without a big attraction locally.
  14. We stayed one night - Thursday July 8. Thanks for pointing that out.. realized I forgot it once I sent the post. The hotel had a lot of vacancy on a Thursday night, and is very convenient for folks traveling to and from Fla. on I-95 - only 2 minutes off the Interstate.
  15. I started at $50, was rejected, added an area and was accepted at the Adam's Mark Hotel on the Riverfront in Jacksonville. It's apparently the host hotel for the 2005 Super Bowl and was a very nice 3-star. We got 2 King rooms and added a rollaway with no problem at $15 extra. The rooms were very nice, and the rooftop pool and health club with the view of the river and downtown was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We parked in the adjacent parking deck for $10 for the night. We were able to walk the beautiful Riverwalk only about 1/4 mile to the shops and restaurants at Jacksonville Landing. It was an excellent experience. Your Offer Price: $55.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $21.80 Total Charges: $131.80
