  1. Bid $54 - rejected. Decided to wait 24 hours rather than use free rebid zone. Bid of $55 accepted
  2. Rejected at $64, added free rebid zone - accepted at $65

  5. Same day bid - rejected at $50. Added a rebid zone and went down to 2.5*. Won the Crowne Plaza which is now a 3*
  6. Thanks for the warning about parking. March is a pretty busy month so I expected that I'd have to pay a little extra. I might have got it for cheaper if I waited until the date got closer but I'd prefer to book the room now. I have read several reviews and this hotel sounds really nice!
  7. Bid up to $110 for a WDW resort but was rejected so decided to try downtown. Since this is Spring Break week I didn't expect to get anything at these rates. Downtown was rejected at $100, added free rebid zone and my next bid of $110 was accepted. westin.com rate is $399!
  8. Rejected at $65, added free rebid zone and accepted at Hilton Cota Mesa at 3050 Bristol St for one night on 8/20. Also used the add a night feature to get 8/19 at the same price. I was hoping to get the Hyatt but the Hilton sounds nice as well. Hilton.com rate is $119
  9. You usually need to have Gold level status with Hilton to get the free breakfast. Even if your Hilton Honours number is on file, some Hilton hotels still won't give you any perks so I wouldn't get your hopes up too high. Regardless, $87 is a pretty nice rate for this hotel for August.
  10. Tried bidding between $55-$60 for the past month but was rejected. Rejected 3 days ago at $60. Waited 72 hours and bid $65 Internet rate is $159, about $10 higher than most Thursday nights in August. Since the rate is higher, maybe availablility wasn't open enough for me to get this at $60. Regardless, I am happy as I have stayed at this hotel in the past and it is pretty nice.
  11. First Bid $90 rejected. Added Coastal and bid $94 - accepted at the Omni
  12. I would guess that it's Hilton Torrey Pines as this shows up regularly on Priceline, has a tennis court onsite, and it overlooks the Torrey Pines Golf Course. But this is just a guess
  13. I won the Country Inn & Suites for Aug 6-11 for $65. This is a decent 2.5 star hotel and is about a 15 minute drive to Del Mar. The regular rate was $149. I see that the rates for your dates is also $149 so I suspect you could also get this hotel for $65. It also includes breakfast
  14. This used to be the Prime Hotels and Resorts. It has been bought out by Country Inn & Suites and downgraded to a 2.5*. The Mira Mesa zone has been renamed to Sorrento Mesa and there is no longer a 3* option in this zone. One nice improvement (over Prime Hotels) is that breakfast is included First bid was $60 - I was given an offer to add $17. Instead, I added Miramar as a free rebid and got this for $65
  15. My first time using Hotwire! Amenties listed were: Restaurant Fitness Center Business Center No mention of a pool or laundry as posted in the Hotel Lists and tips section here -> HOTWIRE HOTEL LIST
  16. First bid $57 accepted. Hyatt.com prepaid rate was $125. I didn't think I'd get this for less than $60, otherwise I would have started a little lower. Regardless, I'm quite happy! Your Offer Price: $57.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $57.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $14.97 Total Charges: $71.97
  17. Never mind. I figured out that the car package is per person and the price doubles when there are 2 people
  18. I am looking at booking a 4* for July 4-5. When I book a car/hotel package(picking up car at CLE), the Hyat shows up for $86. When I just book a hotel only (no car), a 4* shows up with the same Amenities for $94. How can it be cheaper to get the car package? What happens if I take the car package but decide not to pick up the car?
  19. Glad to hear it worked out for you Scott! The hotel is changing to a Country Inn & Suites on May 4 but they are keeping all reservations in tact. The hotel is at least as nice as the Del Mar Doubletree. I have stayed here a few times and like it better. It also has free internet and wireless in the lobby - hopefully this won't change once the new owners take over. There are also good, fairly cheap snacks at the bar during happy hour
  20. There's a 3* on Hotwire in Mira Mesa for $79 (6/3-6/8). I don't know what hotel it is but I would guess it's Prime Hotels and Resorts. I'm surprised you didn't get this 3* on Priceline as it usually goes for about $55-70 and as far as I know it's the only 3* in that zone. If you're willing to split your stay into 2 hotels, another option would be to book the Holiday Inn Express Sorrento Valley (Mira Mesa) on the Holiday inn Website (http://www.ichotelsgroup.com). The weekend rate is $96 prepaid or you can make a cancellable reservation for $102 (6/2-6/6). The parking is free and it includes continental breakfast. I prefer this hotel to the Doubletree Del Mar because 1) continental breakfast is free, 2) it's closer to downtown (although still quite far away) and 3) it's much newer than the Doubletree There is also the Holiday Inn Rancho Bernardo for about $88 prepaid for the weekend. It's over on I-15 but is about as far north as Del Mar, although I have not stayed here The only downside is that the Holiday Inn rates go up for Monday/Tuesday
  21. City: San Diego Zone: San Diego Coastal Check in: 8/7 Check out: 8/11 Here's the play-by-play of my bidding for a 4*: 1 $80 San Diego Coastal Details 2 added Mira Mesa and bid $85 3 added Miramar and bid $87 All were rejected. I'm not willing to go any higher but I thought I'd post this in case others find it useful
  22. Bid $35 was rejected. Added free rebid zone and bid $40 and it was accepted. Was hoping to get the Hyatt but ended up here. Parking was free at Embassy Suites across the road. Bid was placed at the last minute - one day prior to arrival
  23. Bid $35 rejected and asked for $9 more for free rebid. Added rebid zone and got for $40. Also honored my Diamond status and gave us a room the on Regency Club Floor! Bid was placed the day before we arrived
  24. Bid $50 then $55 free rebid (Miramar) - rejected. Waited 3 days then bid $60 and $62 free rebid (Miramar) were rejected Waited 3 more days and bid $65 - accepted. Internet rate is $139
