  1. Lower bids of $43 was rejected with counteroffer. If you do eventually want to split up the Canada Priceline forum, let me know and I'll help in the process.
  2. thereuare, may I suggest splitting the Canadian Priceline forum into Canada West (British Columbia, Alberta, Sask., Manitoba) and Canada East (Ontario, Quebec, Maritime provinces). It'd be easier to read this way.
  3. Bidded for two rooms again and got the Radisson. Stayed here last year and it's a good alternative to more expensive hotels in Banff.
  4. Booked two rooms at this properly on separate bids. First room bid $43 and rejected. Added another zone and bidded $45 and was accepted by Marriott. Second room bid $44 and was also accepted by the Marriott. Pre-paid rate at marriott.com is a low Cdn$92 / US$76.7, which seems very low for a Canadian Marriott. Savings of about 40% off this already low rate.
  5. Did you end up getting the Doubletree? Please confirm the amenities list above. This will help future users!
  6. Again, other posters got this hotel based on the same amenities. Your chances are high, but then it's not 100% guarantee.
  7. should be the Brock Plaza. I'm making these education guesses based on other posts on this board and also information from HOTWIRE vacation packages. Hence, it's not 100% guarantee that you'll get the exact hotel we indicate here.
  8. Looks like the Doubletree Resort and Spa to me. You may want to book at hilton.com at their rate is lower. Otherwise, book on HOTWIRE and invoke the double the difference guarantee and save even more. The admin would probably appreciate if you buy through the link at savingsbarn.com
  9. Log back on Hotwire and try to retrieve your flight summary. If it does say Feb instead of March, I'm afraid it's actually your fault and there is absolutely nothing you can do to recover the loss.
  10. Hotel business is good throughout Asia these days .. hence no need to sell the rooms cheap when they can sell at regular rates. You might notice that regular rates of most BKK also have gone up since last year.
  11. Sorry to hear that you aren't too excited about the hotel that you got. I'll have to say that Priceline probably get too many similiar emails from people who challenge their rating system in an attempt to get out of bids. That's why you keep getting these canned email messages from them. BTW, Priceline doesn't guarantee 3 star hotels to have a pool, but they must definitely have a restaurant.
  12. The 3.5 star you were referring to should be the Listel. There is basically no way to for sure getting the Pacific Palisades on Priceline unless you buy one of their hotel+air or hotel+car packages. Hotwire is not showing it for your dates as some other 4 star has a lower rate than them. AAA and Regular rates at the Pacific Palisades for your dates is about Cdn$120-140.
  13. Using rebid zones and bidded up dollar by dollar, got the Four Points by Sheration Mississauga. Very disappointed to get this hotel as I was hoping for the Marriott/Renaissance/Radisson hotel others have been getting on this board. This hotel is quite a bit farther from the airport than the other Priceline airport hotels. Reviews on trip advisor is poor. Bid accepted at $40 with taxes/fee come up to US$50.86 Best available rate on starwood.com is a prepaid rate of Cad$94.15 = US$75. I also tried bidding 2* at $28 and was counteroffered to bid at $35.
  14. I wouldn't choose the Crowne Plaza due to the fact that they give PL/HW customers the worst rooms in the house - the ones that are next to the elevators. My friend was assigned one of those rooms and couldn't sleep the whole night! Location wise, the Crowne Plaza is the best. The next will be the Delta Suites and then Marriott Pinnacle. The Westin is a little farther from downtown but very close to the Stanley Park. I believe you could also get the Renaissance Vancouver on PL for around $40 and the Renaissance is right across the street from the Marriott. The Renaissance Vancouver is where I had my high school prom. :-) If you don't want to risk it, then go for the Delta Suites on Hotwire. If you want to risk it, I'd bid $50 for the Marriott and somewhere between $55-65 to get one of the Delta Suites, Westin, Hyatt, Pacific Palisades. They all have the Priceline rates from $55-65.
  15. Bidded $33 for 3* and rejected Using free rebid and bidded $38 for 3*. Accepted and upgraded to 4* Renaissance Fallsview. $38 is GREAT value for this property this weekend, given that I paid $55 for another weekend night last fall.
  16. Bid 3* at $35 rejected and had counteroffered to add $10. Rebid at $37 and accepted by the Radisson Kitchener. Late last year, I won this hotel for $35 for a Saturday night. It seems that the rate changes due to currency fluctuations.
  17. The two Hotwire 5* properties in Vancouver are the Pan Pacific and the Sutton Place hotel. According to vacation packages, the one with close to golf amenities is the Sutton Place hotel.
  18. FYI, Priceline doesn't not include GST in the tax and while Hotwire does. So for hotels in British Columbia, for example: Priceline pays hotels 7% less in tax than Hotwire because technically Priceline only sells rooms to Americans or foreigners where they can get the taxes exempted while Hotwire is allowed to sell rooms to Canadians and so they'll have to charge the GST.
  19. $50 rejected .. $55 accepted. Yet another nice weekend trip for me. I couldn't have done it without this board and Priceline.
  20. Thereuare and squeegeekid, I ended up accepting the Hotwire credit anyway. I'll report how the Quality Hotel Midtown is after my stay in December.
  21. Latest update. Hotwire sent me an email apologizing that the property doesn't have fitness facilities and offered me a choice of either cancellation and full refund or keep the reservation and get $50 Hotwire money for future purchase. They also indicated that they've removed the fitness facilities icon for this hotel. So please update your list.
  22. OK, the newest update. I sent Hotwire an email and their CSR replied back saying that they'll look at the issue and have a reply between 7-10 business days. What's annoying to me is that according to TOBB, this property is rated 2* on Priceline. I actually placed a bid of $29 on Priceline for 2* and was offered to raise $7 to secure a 2* hotel. Then I thought I might treat myself better by getting a 3* on Hotwire. I went to Choice hotels to verify my reservation and see that they've booked me in a softbed room (?), but non smoking though.
  23. Facilities: Restaurant, Fitness Quality Hotel Midtown 280 Bloor St. W. Toronto, ON M5S 1V8 Canada (416) 968-0010 I booked this after getting denied at Priceline for 2.5* and 3* for $46. I'm quite disappointed to get this hotel as Priceline probably rates this as a two star hotel. I checked out the hotel's website and it turns out that the hotel doesn't have a fitness center in the building. I called the hotel and they indicated that they don't have a fitness centre on site but access for fitness center is a 10 minute walk away at a fitness club. I then called Hotwire to request a refund as the hotel doesn't have the facility as indicated. The CSR said they don't gurantee to have the facilites on site and wouldn't refund. I think I'm going to write them an email to complain. What would you recommend me to do?
  24. Sorry, the 3* Radisson guess I mentioned above actually has the following amenities: Restaurant Pool Fitness Center
  25. There are 3 Burnaby/Coquitlam hotels that participate in Hotwire. My best guess: 4* is the Hilton (which doesn't come up that often) 3.5* is the Executive Inn on North Road 3* is the Radisson
