2. -star rating 4.5 -city and zone DC, White House - Downtown -travel dates Jan 5-9 (4 nights) -room rate per nite in US Dollars $122 -amenities associated with the hotel (if applicable) :Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Golf nearby, Accessible for visually impaired Although this is a really nice hotel (I've stayed there a few times), I was a little disappointed because I wanted the Kimpton Mason & Rook; you can't win 'em all! Also, this rate is only slightly below what I could have gotten from the hotel directly. On the other hand, it is very close to the events I'm going to.... I used the BiddingHelper.com tool to book. I don't see additional amenities listed there.
3. Yes, this: Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower PS - I did use the site's BiddingHelper.com.
4. 95% Recommended Free Internet Pet friendly Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby Tennis nearby Spa services
5. Used the "Hot.wire QuickQuote" link on this site. (But I still can't get the "Bidding.Helper" to work properly.) Amenities include: Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Pet friendly Also says 95% positive reviews.
6. Thanks, I am pretty "high" on this property. Not only is it supposed to be a nice hotel, the location is apparently within walking distance to off-airport restaurants and entertainment that I have visited before. Not crazy about paying for internet, but maybe the new management has changed that. (discussing the BiddingHelper.com issue with thereuare via PM)
7. Used the Hot.wire "Quick Quote" link. (Have had problems trying to use the "BiddingHelper," although I did use it to get the following list of amenities: Pet friendly, Airport shuttle, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower. Rated 90%+. PS - my problem with Bidder Helper is that the list of offers from Hotwire "Easy View" do not work as live links. And I get nothing at all from the regular Hotwire view. So I used the Quick Quote link...
8. The deal is gone (I was looking at November 12, one night). However, i wasn't crazy about it as it said it was 11.7 (or so) miles from DFW and seemed to be closer to Love Field, if that's even possible. I did click through as if I were going to purcashe but it did not provide additional informatoin about amenities.
9. DFW North and Grapevine 4.5* 85% Recommended Free Parking Free Internet Pet Friendly Airport Shuttle Smoke-Free Rooms Fitness Center Pools Restaurants Business Center
10. Used the Hotwire link provided. Amenities listed as follows: Pet-friendly, Boutique Hotel, Smoke-Free rooms, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet Access, Spa Services. Says 85% recommend. Note: I have stayed here several times before, and I have no idea why it's 85% rather than 90% or even higher. It's a very nice hotel, with a great restaurant and free wi-fi. Easy walk to the Metro. With taxes and fees: four nights = $534.75
11. I do think there were some amenities listed. But I did not make a note of them, and after I won, the property wouldn't come up on a new inquiry. I really didn't mind that it was technically "Redondo Beach," because it was closer to Manhattan Beach. They even have a free shuttle to and from Manhattan Beach area until 8pm. I highly recommend this property (at the price). It seems to be brand new and TripAdvisor ranks it #1 for the area. There's a nice pool, free breakfast, helpful staff, and clean modern large rooms with kitchens.
12. Sorry, not much more info as the property won't come up again on my browswer. "Still gathering reviews," although when you get the property, they claim 100% favorable reviews. I'm happy enough, although if it's a Redondo Beach hotel, why is it listred under El Segundo-Manhattan? Used the board's Hotwire link.
13. Not thrilled, due to the not-exactly-downtown location...although the reviews seem quite positive. Wasn't aware this was a Price.line option for downtown. Rate on website is $202. Probably should've waited, but Austin weekends have been tough the past few years! Used the PRICELINE link provided on this site.
14. I went back and closed up those threads. However, I've changed my plans for January and don't need this information any more. (For the record, I think it might be the George, as that is the only pet-friendly boutique hotel in the area that I can identify. If that's so, I'm not sure what they base the 4.5 versus 4.0 stars, as it's not any nicer in any fundamental way than say the Palomar or the Hotel DuPont Circle.)
15. I ended up going through regular channels to get a room at lousy Holiday Inn because work more or less demanded it.
16. Trying to ID a 4.5* in White House - Downtown area, asking $115/night. Amenities include: Free internet, Pet friendly, Boutique Hotel, Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet Access, Spa Services. Accessibility: For the blind 95% Recommended Thanks
17. Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Spa Services, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower 95% Recommended in Hotwire customer review Thanks, Pete
18. Thanks! But funny, that's the same hotel that came up on Starwood as an apparent bargain, but the actual reviews on TripAdvisor make it sound rather sketchy. I think I'll continue my search.
19. Just a quick follow-up on my stay: Lowe's Philadelphia is a very nice hotel, definitely merits four stars. It's as good as better than the average Westin IMO. I enjoyed my stay there immensely.
20. Wound up with Club Quarters for $125. Priceline lists it as 3* although I believe Hotels.com had it as a 4*. I'm familiar with CQ generally, however, and don't have any great expectations. I may have left $10 or $20 on the table, although this is still much better than HOTWIRE was showing for my date. So in sum, I've got Club Quarters on the 25th at $125 and Loews on the 26th and 27th at $110. I used the PRICELINE link provided; you may want to change the title of this thread.
21. I'm surprised you were able to get your original bid...I went up to $110 on 3* for the same date today and got nothing!
22. With respect to a 4* in central Philly Friday night (4/25), I have tried using multiple free rebids up to $130, but failed to be accepted. Is there a different option to try in this scenario? I'm also thinking of going to a 3* (also downtown); again I'd like to keep the price down to $130/night and preferably significantly less if a 3*. Thanks again!
