That's not the correct method. If your bid is rejected, you add a rebid zone and increase your bid. You can't get a hotel in a rebid zone (assuming that you've determined them correctly), so you're essentially increasing your bid in your desired zone(s). The reason you add the rebid zones is so that you aren't sending a duplicate bid (a bid for the same zone/star level as one you've sent in the past 24 hours); if you add them all first without increasing you bid, you're just wasting them. And if you then start with a fresh screen (i.e. a new bid for 4* DT - Pike Place), your bid will be rejected as a duplicate, since you've already bid for 4* DT - Pike Place.

I'm seeing this hotel, but it's not an opaque listing (indicated by the "provided by Hotels.com" on the far right). Just click "Continue" and Hotwire will reveal the name of the hotel.

Doesn't your Visa statement show the amount you were charged in US dollars and the exchange rate Visa used to convert it into Canadian dollars?

You don't have to be upgraded to a Resort-level property on Priceline to get hit with a resort fee. Priceline's Resort properties are expected to meet a certain level of amenities and luxury, but any hotel can call itself a "resort" and charge a resort fee. In Las Vegas, for example, there are hotels rated as low as 2* on Priceline that charge a resort fee.

The InterContinental is the most likely, I think.

You can only bid up to 3* in Northwest Portland. If you're able to select 4* for Northwest Portland by itself on the bidding web page, then the page isn't executing properly on your browser.

Given that the hotel is recommended by 75% of Hotwire customers, my best guess is the Renaissance. I agree that the HOTWIRE 3.5* Downtown West hotel is almost certainly the Coast Plaza Hotel. The Century Plaza is in PRICELINE's Granville Entertainment District zone; have you been bidding for this zone as well, or only the Downtown Vancouver zone?

Given that the hotel you saw on HOTWIRE is recommended by 85% of customers, my best guess is the Sheraton. There's no need to accept PRICELINE's counteroffer; I recommend that you read Priceline rebidding explained to find out how to bid again without having to wait 24 hours.

I have to disagree. The star level and set of amenities are a match for the Arizona Biltmore in HOTWIRE's old vacation packages, so that's my best guess.

That would be my guess too. The Silver Cloud was previously reported with the above amenities minus Pool; at the time, the pool was closed because of the renovations being done on the restaurant.

The 2.5* PDX Perimeter hotel has not been identified. My best guess is the Comfort Inn Portland Airport. The set of amenities for the 3* Vancouver hotel is a match for the Phoenix Inn Suites, and the set of amenities for the 4* Downtown Portland hotel is a match for the Westin, so those are my best guesses for them.

The Granville Entertainment District is part of downtown Vancouver; Burnaby is a completely different area (Priceline has a Burnaby-Coquitlam zone; look at the two zones on Priceline's map and you'll see how far apart they are). The Executive Hotel Burnaby is a different hotel from the Executive Hotel Vintage Park in the Granville Entertainment District zone. I wouldn't recommend staying at the Executive Hotel Burnaby with your family either -- it's good to see that the front desk agent was honest with you. I don't know if the 3* hotels are that bad, but there is quite a drop in quality compared to the 4* hotels, so sticking to 4* hotels is probably best. Given the Sheraton's rate on Hotwire (and it's own website), you should be close to landing a 4* on Priceline anyway.

If you have bonus cash, I would bid a little more first before I'd take the $109 deal on Hotwire. There are currently no 3.5* hotels in either Downtown Vancouver or Granville Entertainment District; were you thinking about bidding for a 3.5* hotel in a different zone?

I see a listing for $45 that otherwise matches the above information. It also says "Recommended in 10% of Hotwire Customer Reviews". The total number of reviews is small, but still, I'd be very hesitant to book a hotel with that kind of customer feedback. The only hotel I can find that's consistent with the amenities and TripAdvisor rating (3.0) is the Baymont Inn Arlington at Six Flags, so that's my best guess.

Sorry -- the Sutton Place hotel is in the Granville Entertainment District zone. But my original point is still valid -- the 4* hotels in the Granville Entertainment District zone are all fine in terms of location.

The Granville Entertainment District zone is part of downtown Vancouver; I suspect that it was separated from the old Downtown Vancouver zone because there are areas near Granville Street that are, shall we say, not to everyone's taste (it's not nearly as seedy as it once was, but can be pretty noisy at night because of the bars and nightclubs). You can easily avoid this area, however, by bidding at the 4* level. If you do end up at the Sheraton, I don't think you'll have a problem with its location; it's only a few blocks from the Sutton Place and Hyatt Regency hotels in the Downtown Vancouver zone. I would start at about $70-$75 for a 4* in Downtown Vancouver + Granville Entertainment district and use your rebid zones to raise your bid in $5 increments.

The 4* hotel you're referring to on HOTWIRE appears to be the Sheraton Wall Centre, which is in Priceline's Granville Entertainment District zone. It won't come up for you on PRICELINE if you're only bidding for a room in the Downtown Vancouver zone.

Whistler will probably take a full day, as will Emerald Sea Adventures/Butchart Gardens (the Granville Island Public Market is in Vancouver, not Victoria). The Tsawwassen/Swartz Bay ferry, unfortunately, is not cheap -- the regular fare is about $60 each way for a car plus the driver, plus another $14 for each additional adult passenger. The rest can easily be done in the remaining 2-3 days; there really isn't that much to see at Canada Place and Vancouver Lookout. I would prefer to stay downtown, as it's quite small and you can walk to everything fairly easily (though that depends on your age and health, I guess), but parking will be a lot more expensive. I'm not sure if it still matters, but my best guess for the 3.5* hotel in Burnaby-Coquitlam is the Executive Hotel Burnaby.

Welcome to BetterBidding, cmilady. I don't know anything about Oklahoma City, but if you need two queen beds, I would seriously reconsider your decision to use Priceline. The Country Inn is listed as a 2* on the Hotel List. Assuming that's still true, I can pretty much guarantee that it's not the only 2* hotel in the Oklahoma City North zone, and there's the possibility of being upgraded to a hotel of higher star level. There's no way to know if the hotel you get will have rooms with two beds, or if the hotel will put you in one if it has them. I suggest that you read the warnings at the top of the hotel list so that you understand how the lists are compiled, and their limitations.
