  1. It is labelled as a "city tax" (including VAT, though) and was levelled per person per night. It smells of something like a PRICELINE tax to me, especially since the woman at checkout couldn't stress enough that people booking direct don't have to pay it.
  2. Went from 90$ to 95$ and was accepted at 100$ for 2 rooms and 2 nights which came out to a total of about 440$ including taxes. Very pleased about the hotel, I've already stayed there last year. I wonder if they will also charge me some surprise tax like the Marriott Rive Gauche did in April :) Used the forum link for bidding.
  3. I try to remember using them and I do use them often. Not sure if the credit does arrive as it should, though, because I block cookies aggressively and I don't always get my hotels on the first attempt. Thank you for maintaining this board.
  4. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$108.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$33.50 Total Charges: US$357.50
  5. was shooting for the 4* Movenpick, but was rejected for 55$. Put in a bid for a three star airport hotel at 40$ and got immediately accepted. Apparently the Leonardo has been sold for as low as 35$ recently. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$40.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$14.80 Total Charges: US$54.80
  6. This thing finally ended with $245 for the Marriott which is by far the most I ever had to pay for a 4* hotel with PRICELINE. It's about half price over booking direct, so I guess I should be happy. But to be honest, I'm not too excited like I usually am with what I get on PL. The Marriott is also a bit far out over what I'd have booked direct (the Schweizerhof) and the tripadvisor reviews don't compare. I guess in hindsight, I'd have booked direct. The person I booked this for had one main concern: proximity to the main train station, the Marriott looses on this one, big time. Zurich Marriott also seems to make sure to treat PL customers as such, judging from tripadvisor experiences. date: 2nd of September for one night price: 245$ plus taxes (268$ all in) Zurich Marriott hotel I am sorry, I think I forgot to use the forum PRICELINE link this time.
  7. Can you believe this? What is going on around the 2nd of September in Zurich? Tried to book a hotel there 4*, city centre, for one night. Went up all the way to 175$, but still got nothing. Sometimes, these hotels go for way below 100$ on PRICELINE. I'm baffled. Used the PRICELINE link for starting the bidding.
  8. wow, a 4* hotel for considerably less than the youth hostel (assuming two person occupancy). I stayed in the hotel last year and don't remember any particular problems. But I think there was a big construction site in front, so maybe that is the reason they are having trouble selling rooms at the moment. Consider yourself lucky (and daring to even try ;-)) to get such a great rate
  9. Wow, so you can make deals with priceline in Japan, too, now. Last time I looked, prices like these were not yet possible with PRICELINE. Good to know.
  10. Hotel: Pullman Paris La Defense Ex-Sofitel 11 Avenue De L Arche Check-In Date: Wednesday, September 3, 2008 Check-Out Date: Saturday, September 6, 2008 Total: 426.57$ Started the bid with the forum PRICELINE link
  11. Check-In Date: Sun, Mar 9, 2008 Check-Out Date: Tue, Mar 11, 2008 108$ per night came out to US$240.36 inclusing charges. Very pleased with the hotel. Used the forum link for PRICELINE
  12. Congratulations on your win. I know the feeling about "winning on first attempt" :) But I doubt from reading this board that you'd have gotten it for any considerably lower sum. You might have overspent a buck or two, don't fret, look at the hundred(s) you always save! Enjoy
  13. Check-In Date: Sun, Feb 3, 2008 / After 02:00 PM Check-Out Date: Mon, Feb 4, 2008 / 12:00 PM Total Cost including tax: 88$/60
  14. Check-In Date: Fri, Mar 2, 2007 Check-Out Date: Mon, Mar 5, 2007 Taxes & Fees: around 20$ accepted bid: 60$ total cost: around 200$ It seems this hotel has gotten a bit more expensive. I had tried around various dates (starting with only two nights, but with check-in changing over a period of a week) with bids around the low 50ish$ range as this seems to be what got other people this hotel previously. I was unsuccessful until bidding 60$ for three nights. Wonderful hotel, nice restaurant. Good to have a car and map of Lisboa to get around from the hotel as it is not in the centre.
  15. As a first time user of priceline I might have bid a little too high with 65$ for 4* in Brussels which was accepted right away and got me the Renaissance Brussels. I later saw in this forum that this hotel regularly was getting accepts for around 50$. It still was a good bargain and I was happy with it.
