  1. Does my guess at the 3.5* on Hotwire sound correct as being the Sheraton? That is what I'm basing my max of $100 per night. If Hotwire has the Sheraton at $114, I'm hoping to get less than that on Priceline.
  2. I'm hoping to get a room in Santa Monica or Marina Del Rey from 07/01 - 07/09 and would like a best guess of where you think my bidding should start. My goal is to to stay under $100 per night if possible for a 3*. Hotwire has 3.5* listed for $114. Based on amenities (fitness center, laundry, pool, restaurant, business center), it is probably the Sheraton.
  3. Just wanted to provide some feedback on my stay. The lobby and ammenities are 4* but room is more of a 3* level. Location was good for me. Several quick places to eat nearby. The hotel restaurant was pricey and only okay quality. Fitness center was very good. Each cardio machine has its own TV monitor and headset attachment. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.
  4. My list is not all inclusive but here are a few. If you are looking for more options try searching on Travelocity"]Travelocity and select shuttle as one of the amenities. Hilton LAX 5711 W Century Blvd Holiday Inn LAX 9901 La Cienega Blvd Howard Johnson 8620 Airport Blvd La Quinita Inn & Suites 5249 Century Blvd Marriott Los Angeles Airport 5855 Century Blvd Raddison Hotel LAX 6161 Centinela Ave Ramada Inn LAX El Segundo 5250 W El Segundo Blvd Renaissance Montura Hotel 9620 Airport Blvd Travelodge Hotel LAX Airport 5547 W Century Blvd Westin Los Angeles 5400 W Century Blvd Hope this helped.

  6. I checked past wins over the last several months. Here is what I found.... 2.5* no wins posted for over 6 months 3* most wins range around $80 but have been up to $117 4* wins range $105 to $115 Hope this helps.
  7. In checking the 4* hotel list for LAX Airport area, Priceline only has two listed. One is the Westin and the other is Sheraton. So, your chances are 50/50 but it seems winning bids results are for the Westin. Sorry, not sure what rate to recommend. My opinion would be to start around the same rate you got the first time.
  8. Originally started at $50 for 4* waited a few days then went to $60 and got a counter to bid $77 which I won. I know others have gotten lower rates but I didn't want to wait. Also, I checked about a month ago and prices on varies websites for these dates went up on several hotels by $30-$50 a night. Used SavingBarn link to PRICELINE. Room $385 Tax $66.41 Total $451.41
  9. First time bidder and not sure of when to bid. Looking for LAX area or possibly Culver City or Marina del Rey, basically something near the airport. When should I bid for 09/21 - 09/26 dates? Also, some comments noting weeknights are higher so not sure what would be considered a good rate for a 3* or 4*.
