Hi again, I am looking for a place in Huntington Beach from Friday 8/30 - Monday 9/2. This may be a difficult one. I really need to be walking distance to the pier and to Main Street. So, 10-15 minutes or so. The closer the better. (I was looking at Huntington Beach Inn and that area) I am not picky on stars only cleanliness. Any suggestions? Priceline or Hotwire. Thank you!

Hello again! I am looking to stay in San Diego on August 23 and 24, departing on the 25th. I would like to be close (15-20 minute walk or less than 10 minute drive) to Petco park, if possible. However, my main objective is cost savings. I am flexible with stars. I would like to be above 2.5 if possible...unless a low star is a good clean hotel. I am not concerned with amenities - a pool would be a bonus but is not needed. I know this is a long shot but... as close to $100 - $125 is my ideal rate. Suggestions? Thoughts? Thank you!

AaronJB, Thank you. My budget would be 125 - 175. The $135 rate at the Residence Inn pleasently surprised me. I am going to look at the two hotels you have listed. If I recall, the Loews looked quite nice.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Route 1 in Saugus. I used a government rate as I am eligible for that.

Hello again! I am looking to stay in San Diego from July 1 to July 5. Yup, I know it is a difficult time of year to get a deal. I am wanting to stay beach front/ bay area / marina area /gaslamp area. Also, Coronado Island would be great. It would have to be close to the water or on Coronado. I would prefer a 3.5 star and up. Maybe a 3 star. Currently I have: Marriott Gaslamp Residence Inn at 135 Marriott Bay at 167 Hilton Bay at 167 Hard Rock at 165 (this was great until I found out they have resort fees which I hate andit makes the room 110 more than the others.) The Residence Inn may be a great property with great services. What do you think? I would use Priceline or Hotwire. Thank you!

With your advice.... I told Priceline that a hotel at 7.7/10 is not acceptable. They said they would talk to their travel partners and call me back. They did not call me back. In fact, they sent me a confirmation e-mail for the original property. I called them and was told my request for the same review rating would not be honored. They offered a full refund plus 20%. I was able to use the 20% as a credit or cash back. I choose cash back and used HOTWIRE for my stay in San Francisco. It worked out very nicely.

Priceline contact me saying that Hotel Zelos is booked and that they must move my hotel to the Sir Francis Drake Hotel Union Square. The Sir Drake gets mixed reviews and a lot of the customers have some serious complaints. And it is rumored as haunted... as stupid as it sounds it doesn't make me want to jump at the chance to stay there. Any advice?

The first link - 4 star Union Square West... Could that be a hotel other than Serrano? It looks like Priceline lists hotels that have resort fees and they do not list fees for this deal.

I cant match the 3.5 Union Square West or 3.5 Union Square east or 4 Union Square east nob hill. Maybe prices changes? the first two recommendations have resort fees I am against them. Thank you for your help.

Hi! I am looking for help with a San Francisco hotel for 4/27 to 4/30. I am not real picky on the area. I am looking for downtown or Nob hill / Soma places. All I really need is good public transport and walking distance to some restaurants / bars and stuff. The stars don't matter a ton to me but of course I would like the best value for the money. A lot of the express deals look good. For me, any price below 150 would be great. 125 is even greater. Any thoughts? Thank you! This forum has been wonderful for me and I recommend it to others. Again, express deals would work. I don't have to necessarily bid to get try and get a better deal. Thanks!
