  1. Part 2 of Trip Started bid at $45 offered to increase price by $13. Used a rebid to $50/night. Sheraton rate was $125. Used the Savingsbarn link.
  2. Part 1 of Trip Started bid at $55 with multiple rebids in $5 increments ended up at $80/night. Hyatt rate was $150/night. Used the Savingsbarn link.
  3. Started Bid at $50.00 (which used to get accepted 90% of the time) Multiple Rebids in increments of $5.00 to $80.00 Pricelines Special Rate was $169.00 Added the "car" since it was better then any other rate I could get. Used the SavingsBarn Link.
  4. Started at $125 and went in $10-$15 increments so probably $160, I guessed at $168 and was about to give up.
  5. Finally got one after repeated trys/rebids. 4* Downtown $168/Night The Madison, A Loews Hotel Check-In Date: Wed, Apr 11, 2007 Check-In Time: After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Fri, Apr 13, 2007 Check-Out Time: 12:00 PM Your Offer Price: $168.00 Subtotal: $336.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $57.41 Total Charges*: $393.41 Web rate was $319, so this appears to be a good deal for a nice hotel. Savingsbarn link was used.
  6. I don't know any of the areas very well so I thought it better to be near the sites rather then get stuck further out. In reading different reviews, this appears to be a decent area. Thoughts? I still have time, so I will probably keep trying.
  7. I am trying to work on a trip in for April 11 - April 13. Currently I am up to $140 (started at $100) for a 4*Deluxe for Downtown and/or the Capitol zones. I have use multiple re-bid options with no luck. Hope that helps provide a gauge and if anyone else has any suggestions, please advise. (Yes, I used the Savingsbarn link.)
  8. Hotel Contessa has been coming up recently for under $100. I am staying there tommorrow. You should be able to stay on the riverwalk for around $80.00
  9. This was my targeted property First Bid $50 Rebid (lewisville) at $55 Rebid (grand prairie) at $65 Rebid (East Dallas) at $75- Accepted - This is higher than I am used too, but much lower than the Westin rate of $175. Used savingsbarn link.
  10. As I recall, 3* and 3*upscale are two different categories. (?). I agree with you on the disputed amount and my intent is to negotiate something reasonable.
  11. Sorry for the delay in posting (I thought I had) :) Multiple rebids tried for 4-star in the same area - went with 3-star and got stuck with this. My review is provided in a seperate hotel review thread. I called PL and have requested that they 1) recategorize this to a 2* or less and 2) hopefully refund part of our money. Regardless, I have disputed the charge amount on my credit card (we will see if this works). Another note, I noticed that they no longer offer a 3-star in this area just 3 star upscale and 2-1/2 star moderate plus. BEWARE! Check-In Date: Thu, Jul 6, 2006 Check-In Time: After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sun, Jul 9, 2006 Your Offer Price: $95.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $285.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $42.73 Total Charges: $327.73
  12. Review of our stay 7/9 - 7/14/06 We did not have the same problems with the staff, but we also did not have any encounters either. After staying at the Holiday Inn
  13. It is disappointing that this property keeps popping up and at that price! I would steer away from this zone and star level until this property disappears. I posted my review in the hotel section.
  14. For the record, this is a very normal price and in the past it was as low as $45/night.
  15. Just inside their boundaries. Once again it was a 2.5* and I never had stayed in one through priceline, now I know what to expect. Thanks again for a great site.
  16. As a follow up, the hotel was not located "downtown" and was not a typical Courtyard. It was an older refurbhished model and quite frankly sucked. If I had not been tired and had to get up earlier, I would not have stayed there. But then again, I have been spoiled on priceline staying at 4 and 5 * hotels for the same price.
  17. :) Courtyard By Marriott Fort Worth South University Drive Your Offer Price: $75.00 Extend Your Stay Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $75.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $18.94 Total Charges: $93.94 First bid at $65 - PL offered for me to increase to $82 Rebid to $75 - the rest is history. ---- Hotel industry must be doing better, the bidding is getting tougher for good properties. Yes, I used the savingsbarn.com link.
  18. :) Out of rebids for a room tommorrow night. Started at 65, 70, 85, 95, then 105 all rejected. I thought I would post a rare failure to get a room at a decent rate. and Yes, I did finally remember to use the savingsbarn.com link.
  19. I am working on the the same type of trip. Your prices should be the same, but you may "feel" pressure to make higher bids to be successful. We both have time on your hands.... I would look at the Orange County Forum to see what has been accepted recently.
  20. Considering the number of rooms you requested and the length it appears great. If I had seen your post earlier, I would have bid the same - I got the same hotel for $58. Enjoy your trip!
  21. First bid at $45 - REJECTED OFFERED ANOTHER BID WITH @ $58 WENT AHEAD AND TOOK IT SINCE THIS IS PART II OF OUR VACATION and its was generally in the range previously indicated. (Part I is San Diego). As always, this is an awesome forum.
  22. Sorry for the late post after the fact: Bid was for 2-rooms and was last month. This was a busy weekend in Houston (Rodeo, Conferences, Chearleading competion, swim meets) and most of the good hotels were sold out months ago. We actually got lucky since for several weeks, our bids were constantly rejected (even for higher amounts). We did not try to rebid since we had time. Overall the property is very nice (normal Hyatt Rate is $200 +)... only downside is the parking at $22/night.
  23. I did not notice any hotels listed in the list or any bids at all. Has anyone tried recently? I am trying to plan a winter vacation and am curious. Thanks,
