  1. Started bidding via the BB link at $87 for 4* DT added Seattle Center at $88 added Lake Union at $89 added SeaTac at $90 added Renton at $92 added South Everett at $94 added Bothell at $96 Normally I don't play chicken with P-line but felt I could afford to this time since I already had a back up reservation ... at the Westin!
  2. Used the PRICELINE link for a quick overnighter: The Westin Seattle 4 Star Seattle Downtown - Pike Place 1900 Fifth Ave Seattle, Washington 98101 206-728-1000 Check-In Date: Fri, Oct 16, 2009 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sat, Oct 17, 2009 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $66.00 Subtotal: $66.00 Taxes & Fees: $17.26 Total Charges*: $83.26 Thrilled to get this lovely property at such a great price. It's been about nine or maybe 10 years since I've stayed there and am looking forward to another Heavenly Bed experience. Wish I had more time to spare since at this price I could certainly afford another night!
  3. Here's the bidding history my mom placed a few weeks ago ... Hoping to get Shilo Inns on the oceanfront for an overnight jaunt from Portland: 1st bid: 2* Newport $55 - rejected 2nd bid: added 2-1/2* and South Bay (even tho we really didn't want to stay down there) $67 - rejected 3rd bid: waited 72 hours and bid 2* Newport $75 and got the Shilo. Really looking forward to this stay and will report back with a review later in the week.
  4. Fortunately, *this* hotel is nothing like the Renton property. I stayed at the Gresham ESA for a few weeks last year while between apartments and I was sad to leave my interim home. Nothing fancy but clean as can be, and the kitchenette and bathroom were spotless, as were the laundry room and front desk area. As the OP stated, staff is very friendly and helpful. My cat was welcomed as well and our needs were respected by the housekeeping crew. Wireless internet was speedy. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
  5. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $34.00 Subtotal: $102.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $21.15 Total Charges*: $123.15
  6. Booked on 2/18/08. Got this on the second try: first bid was for a 3* @ $70 and for three nights beginning 4/24/08. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $76.00 Subtotal: $152.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $28.10 Total Charges*: $180.10 The Scottsdale Plaza Resort, while I'm sure a wonderful property, is one of those unfortunate upgrades that may/may not require a resort fee (reports are mixed on this).
  7. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.74 Total Charges: $63.74 Booked on 2/18/08
  8. Tried bidding two days before check-in. Was prompted to add $17 to bid to guarantee a winning bid, which I declined.
  9. Amenities: 100% Smoke-free property Pool Business Center High-speed Internet access (free in room WiFi) Fitness Center Restaurants Guest Laundry facilities Other info: This was a same-day booking. Property is located right next door to Seahawks Stadium, Qwest Field and Pyramid Alehouse; also a short walk from King St. train station. Room has fridge, microwave and coffee/tea maker at the wet-bar (with separate sink); in-room safe; Aveda toiletries, iPod compatible alarm clock, HD flat screen TV; nice color scheme and furnishings. Complimentary shuttle service available to other parts of DT from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., but I thought it was a pleasant walk to Pioneer Square, Waterfront, Pike Place Market, etc.
  10. Woops! Three years later and now I remember to post. I did get an upgrade on this stay. Massive room on one of the unremodeled floors. Happy with the room, happy with the price.
  11. Had another great stay at this property. I checked at the Hhonors desk, showed my Gold card and was upgraded to a junior suite on the 18th floor. They also gave me breakfast chits without asking. Great property, great service.
  12. This is probably the #1 tip for bidding on PRICELINE. I can't stress enough how useful this is in getting the * level and area you want at the best possible price. I don't want to call it a loophole, but I hope the webmeisters at P/L don't close this up. That would _really_ suck.
  13. Actually, I've gotten stay credit at the various Hiltons on P/L rates. All you do is charge some small incidental to your room, and voila!, stay credit! This will help in maintaining your status with them, if that's important to you. (It is to me!) Otherwise, as a Hilton HHonors Gold, I'm treated just as if I were on any other type of paid stay: lounge access, room upgrades, newspaper of choice, etc.
  14. As a Hilton HHonors Gold, I've usually gotten most of the normal perks -- breakfast coupons/lounge access, better view if not executive floor upgrade, etc. -- AND stay credit. I just charge some small incidental to the room and voila! Stay credit. It's helped me maintain status that I wouldn't otherwise have qualified for.
  15. Thought I would try $50 for my first bid. No go. Upped the bid to $56 and added Lincoln Park for a free re-bid, and got it. Will call HHonors tomorrow to annotate the comments field in my reservation requesting a HHonors upgrade. Will post whether I was successful later. I've heard that that rooms are a bit on the smallish side, but that many rooms have two bathrooms. Again, I'll post the relevant details later. ------------------------ Palmer House Hilton
  16. I stayed at this property last Sept. on a Priceline stay. As a HHonors Gold I was given breakfast certs and a high floor facing Green Park/Lake Michigan since there were no rooms available in the Towers when I checked in. I paid $55/night on that stay. What a bargain given that this is a terrific property and just a few blocks from the Art Institute of Chicago. ******************************************************** Check-In Date: Sunday, March 16, 2003 Check-Out Date: Monday, March 17, 2003 Hotel Name: Hilton Chicago 720 South Michigan Avenue Chicago,
