  1. First bid $130 nada Second $140 nada Third $150 nada 24 hours later First bid $140 Second bid $155
  2. Yes! It's a way to nickle and dime you. They don't tell you about it, until you're checking out either.
  3. Bidded Kaanapali resort Maui $150-$165 declined all times. April 2005, I won Maui Priceline Resort Kaanapali for around $155. This year, I'm not expecting to get that price. I've tried a few times staring at $150 and working up to $165 within the past week. So I'm wondering what I should do. I want to break my stay in Maui, perhaps 3 days in one part of the island area and 4 days at another. Paying around $200 for a resort seems excessive. So my wife and I are thinking going with a 3*. My question: Which part of the island has the best three star hotels? Kaanapali was nice, but did seem kinda "touristy", we're not looking to snorkel. I've heard of the Maui Coast Hotel in Kihei. Is that the only 3* there? What would be a good starting bid? Do the 3* hotels also have a "resort" fee?
  4. Yes, I've stayed there before. But I'm now wondering if I should have low balled it more. Seems like $70 might have been a little too much.
  5. First bid. I hope this was a good price. Now I feel I should have low balled it more.
  6. it's a 3.5* Restaurant Fitness Center Golf Nearby Business Center Pool Spa Services Tennis Nearby Area details: Explore the village, go hot-air ballooning or relax at a luxurious spa. 13 miles to Monterey; 15 miles to the airport, 85 miles to San Jose.
  7. Yes, I may split the bid. Do you think I should try Monday-Wednesday and then Thursday until the end of my vacation?
  8. Will be flying to Maui Oct 17-26th. Bid history: Resort Ka'anapali beach area. $150 - rejected free rebid $155 - rejected $160 - rejected tried again $165 - rejected free rebid $170 - rejected Sheraton rack rate listed at $345 - No garden view rooms appear. Not sure about Winston or Hyatt. Questions: 1 - I need two rooms. Does Priceline change their acceptance/rejection strategy based on the number of rooms the bidder needs? Should I bid one room and than the other? I assume the risk is I could end up with two different hotels. 2 - Is it to my best interest to wait a week before rebiding? Should I start my bid with $150 again? This should be a slow time of year, so I can't understand why at least $170 wasn't accepted. Thanks in advance!
  9. I'm going to try rebidding soon (if I can ever log onto PL). I actually changed the dates a little from my first attempt. Attempt #1 was for 4/24-4/29, Attempt #2 will be from 4/23-4/29. I'll start out around $130 or so and do the free rebids. Hotwire showed a slight increase, probably from the Saturday.
  10. I'm looking to go to Ka'anapali on 4/23-4/29. Last night I bidded on PL for resort on Ka'anapali. Started with $135, rejected. PL countered with $157, free rebid at $139 was rejected, another free rebid at $145 was rejected. I see Hotwire has a 4* for $185. Should I wait the 72 hours and try again? Also does having the same CC but under my wife's login work as a free rebid? Would like to try and get the Sheraton. (Sorry I should have wrote Resort in the title not 4*)
