There's a hotel that came up on my search for May 4 to May 6 that I can't find in the hotel list on this board.

The hotel is a 3.5* (sorry, posted wrong number of stars in title, it's 3.5*) in the Glendale - Burbank - Universal City area. It says that the hotel has a 4.0 out of 5 rating on TripAdvisor, with 160+ reviews.

The amenities are:

I made a separate search on TripAdvisor, and the closest one I can find is the Beverly Garland's Holiday Inn. The rating and number of reviews matches up and it's in the same area, but this one is listed as a 3* on TripAdvisor:

TripAdvisor assigns two quality ratings for each hotel. There's 1) a Hotel Class rating, determined by TripAdvisor and 2) a Traveler Rating, based on votes by visitors who have stayed at the hotel. A hotel that TA calls 4* class might only have a 2.5/5 Traveler Rating. And a 2* class hotel might have a 4/5 Traveler Rating.

Hotel Class ratings on Hotwire and TripAdvisor don't necessarily match. We don't look at them when trying to ID hotels....unless the discrepancy is large, like a hotel is 4* class on Hotwire but only 2* on TripAdvisor. It's only the Traveler Ratings that have to match. And in this case the Traveler Ratings (4/5, 160+ reviews) are a match for the Beverly Garland.

I'm sorry but I don't have time now to check if any other hotels besides Beverly Garland have those ratings.

For the 4* property as those the only two amenities shown... on my own HOTWIRE search for your dates i'm seeing a 4* property offered with more than just two amenities.

No, there's a 4* that has more amenities and matches up with the Sheraton Universal, but there's another 4* that only has two amenities, Fitness and WiFi, and a 4.0/5 TripAdvisor rating and 60+ reviews. I can't find any hotels on TripAdvisor that match up with this.

It can take a considerable amount of time to research and ID HOTWIRE properties... please firm your plans and be ready to commit to a purchase before asking for hotel identifications, as the hotels you ask about today may not be the ones offered once you're ready to commit to a purchase.

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.

Thanks.
