smartcookie
Have been bidding on 2.5* starting at $65 and going up to $100 for Union Square, Fisherman'e Wharf, Civic Center areas. No win. No counteroffers. Coming for Bay of Breakers as everyone else it seems. Hotel prices are pretty high for this weekend, at $200+.Saw that a couple people had the Carlton on hold in case they didn't win. Would love to take over your reservation if you found something else :)We're 3 people looking for a room in a relatively central area. Planning to do the Bay for Breakers and go out at night (including in the Castro). So prefer not to stay by the airport to avoid expensive cab rides back from a night out.Ideas? slruud
Stay at a hotel outside the city near a BART station, near OAK or SFO. Link to comment
smartcookie
UPDATE:We decided to lower the bid to 2* and won! Got the Air Travel Hotel for $115 ($100 and $110 didn't work). It's not the most amazing deal, but I wasn't expecting one for this weekend. This hotel is newly remodeled and the reviews are good. Everything is basically brand new and looks more like a 3 star, which is very nice. Plus, there is free wireless and breakfast. The only downside is that it's basically around Tenderloin, but we don't really care. It's not that big of a deal. This area is within a few blocks from Union Square and BART. My friend lives a few blocks away and she's a single girl. Never had a problem. The cheapest I was able to find this hotel was on CheapTickets for $129 per night after their 25% off special. Considering the situation, we're perfectly happy. I always the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links from this board for my purchase! smartcookie
Yes, it's listed as the Cathedral Hill zone on PRICELINE, though it's more like Lower Nob Hill/Tenderloin in my opinion.
