Hey there, my buddy and I are road tripping to Boston in May '08 for a Red Sox/Brewers game over the 5/17 weekend. We are looking to stay from 5/17-5/20 and I'm looking at Hotwire and a 3* bounces back for $59 a night w/ the following amenities: Restaurant on site, Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center, and High Speed Internet. I'd appreciate any help!! Anywhere I could look for even cheaper rates? We're looking for a place to hang our head pretty much. Thanks all!!

1* With 8 Amenities

So I'm continuously looking for my trip to Boston from May 16-20th and I'm checking in the Burlington-Woburn area when I get a 1 star for $35 a night w/ the following amenities: Comp Breakfast, Pool, Business Center, Restaurant, High Speed Internet, Laundry, Golf Nearby, and Fitness Center? What kind of hotel is this that it would have all those amenitites and only be a 1* for $35 a night? Anyone have any information or ideas on how this could be? A legit hotel? Glitch in the system? I'd appreciate any help that can be given on this one as I may book it (down the road) and cross my fingers. Thanks!

By the by, I've also done this search numerous times and this hotel has come up every time.

No idea really.

One stance could be to book just the one night either at the start or end of your trip to see what this place is.

If it's a bargain then book the remaining nights.

Of course this has risks. The hotel may be a dump and if it's not when you come to rebook the nights it may not be available.

Go for it!

Please use the HOTWIRE support link if you do.

Good luck

A legit hotel? Glitch in the system?
It depends what you consider to be a 'legit' hotel? Most hotels with restaurants are usually legit, but that doesn't mean it will be something that you would want to stay in. I'm doubtful it's a glitch in their system.
I may book it (down the road)
When you're ready to book this leg of your stay let us know if this is still offered and we will look further at that time. This HOTWIRE property may not even be offered anymore once you're ready to book.

So on a road trip in May, May 16th-20th to be exact we'd be staying. Would it be reasonable to get a priceline bid in for either a 2.5* or 3* hotel in the city for between $55-$65? Whats the average bidding for round spring time? I'm only really seeing recent bids going for the cold months, Jan/Feb! Thanks! :)

Unfortunately you are competing with comencement at several area universities that weekend. Ideally you'd want to stay in Boston and not need a car. If you're staying further out you may need a car or will have to rely on either public transportation or cabs. From the Burlington/Woburn area you won't be in an ideal place for public transportation. Also keep in mind that a car rental (checking HOTWIRE today) is going to cost you about $120 min for those days.

I think that the amount that you want to bid is reasonable, assuming that you're bidding within a couple of weeks of the time that you need reservations, but you probably won't be successful if you're bidding 5 months in advance. You should book a "backup" hotel now, and then cancel the reservation if you're successful with a bid in early May. Good Luck!
