dahammer
Started bidding at the 3* level in hopes of possibly snagging the Marriott....started at $100 and bid up to $145, no luck. Conventional rates at the Marriott were about $400. Lowered to 2.5*, but before I bid, I did a search of recent wins in the Brooklyn zone, found out that someone recently won the Comfort Inn for $65. I figured that this was too low, so I bid $70....Success!Your Offer Price: $70.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $19.55 Total Charges: $89.55 The conventional rate here was $169 plus tax, so I am happy with this win, although I would have preferred to stay a little closer to the Coney Island area so that I could grab a coal fired oven pizza at Totonno's, one of the best in the city. :) HOTWIRE had what appeaed to be the 3* Holiday Inn Express for $117 and a 2* for $128, possibly the Days Inn?Upon check in, found out that this hotel charges $26 for parking, so I ended up parking on the street.made my bids through savingsbarn.com Link to comment
