dahammer
because I have not had much success recently with Priceline in the Newark NJ zones and I didn't have time to rebid, I decided to go straight to Hotwire to make my same day reservation. I saw a 2* in the Secaucus-Meadowlands area for $56, taxes and fees added $14. Amenities include Kitchenette and Laundry. High Speed (wireless) internet is available for $3.99 per day. Public transportation into NYC is available on Polito Ave via NJ Transit's 190 bus, this is about 1 mile away, but right across the street from Harold's Deli and really good Pastrami. This is not walkable and your should not stay here without a car. At least this Extended Stay America Hotel provides a packet of coffee for the morning brew. The hotel's website had a rate of $85 plus tax. Other Hotwire rates ranged from $143 for a 3.5* to $112 for a 2.5*. ExtendedStay Meadowlands 750 Edwin L. thereuare
Thank you for adding this new hotel to our lists... just to clarify, the Hi-Speed Internet wasn't shown via Hotwire, correct? It's amazing how many extended stay properties are popping up in this area! Who thought it was such a business metropolis?Hope your stay is going well. dahammer
The only amenities shown on the Hotwire were Kitchenette and Laundry. They did not show the High Speed internet icon, at $3.99 for the day, its a bargain. The front desk does not have any wireless cards or a "bridge" that some Hampton Inns loan out to access the wireless network. There is another Extended Stay America Hotel in Secaucus, about two miles away. These properties are really spartan, no shampoo for my balding pate!!! :) The room gets cleaned once a week and you get sheets changed once a week. You can get new towels at the front desk. But, the room has a two burner stove, full refrigerator, microwave, sink, some pots and pans, and cups and glasses. The max occupancy is set for 2 people, although there are some rooms that are larger to accomodate 4. There was a sign out front that mentions a rate of $65 per day, but I think that is for a 7 day stay. This is probably cheaper than a Manhattan apartment Link to comment
