Was bidding $52 for all the star levels and none were accepted. I was booking yesterday and needed the hotel yesterday. Bid $46 for 1* and got the Days Inn. Big mistake. It was the worst hotel I've stayed in on this current trip (I'm traveling around the US for 3 months). Worse than a Motel 6. Dirty, loud, and right next to the highway and an even worse looking motel. At least it had free breakfast. :) I used the board PRICELINE link and I see it's not listed in the 1* hotels. Used the board PRICELINE link. Searched the board for a 3* in downtown Denver and placed the exact same winning bid of $51. Accepted. Parking is an additional $20/day, but maybe I'll find parking in a garage for cheaper if I feel like dealing with that. Expedia rate for the same nights was $239/night. Price on Hotels.com was $100/night. I bid $25, $39, $40, and $42 was accepted. The other bids were over the past few days.

I don't remember my bids, but I bid 3 or 4 times (going down the star ratings) before this one was accepted. I'm quite happy with it. At Expedia the same hotel, same night is $70+ taxes. Mine was $42 + 12.20 taxes = $54.20.
