  1. Interesting experience getting this hotel. Used the forum to determine preferred star levels, 3.5* and 4*. Bid up to $85/night for a 4* knowing the Renaissance was the only likely hotel with PL availability for all nights. Rejected on all 3 bids. Decided to go for 3.5* but was skeptical because the Hilton website showed availability at $179/night but it wasn't listed on PL's list of 3.5* and the Marriott was available at 3.5* but only for some nights. So it didn't seem likely that I could get a 3.5* hotel by bidding but the PL bid window showed the 3.5* was the best deal. So decided to go for it. First bid $58, rejected with $72 counteroffer. Rebid $63 also rejected. Final bid $69 accepted. Hilton Deerfield Beach/Boca Raton 100 Fairway Drive Deerfield Beach, Florida 33441 It's a nice property; been there before but can't figure out why it never showed up as a possibility even when checking nightly PL available hotel for each consecutive night. I saw the multiple wins for this property but assumed it was sold out since it wasn't on PL's listing of available hotels. All is all, a very good result for us.

  3. Started bidding at $31 and increased by $1 -$2 with free rebids. Got this property on 5th rebid for $36. I used the PRICELINE link. This isn't bad for this property .....and then I remembered I intended to exclude this zone on the rebids. The hotel really isn't close to the Galleria but is really Marietta. They started charging for parking about a year ago. On our last stay, we returned late Sat. night and the valets told us (already registered guests) there was no parking and we should park across the (very busy) street at the shopping center. They were having several prom-type events- we were not happy at all. I hope we don't encounter that again- other than the parking limitations and fees it's been pretty decent.
  4. Started at $45 and rebid in $3-$5 increments. Hotel was truly 4* and in a great location on Peachtree Road near Lenox Square. Parking is $14/night.
  5. Sorry, I had the correct dates originally as 7/26- 7/28 in the topic line but it didn't show up when it posted. I then edited it incorrectly.
  6. Started with $50 bid, rejected and rebid $55, $60, $63 and accepted at $66. PL countered with $70 on the $55 bid but I knew I had several rebids so I didn't accept it and kept going.
  7. Got two nights on first try for $50/night (website rate was $149/nite 7/26-7/28). The hotel is under renovation (the wing with the fitness center is being worked on now) but they put me in the main bldg. Parking is ridiculously high for the suburban location - at $14 per night but there are other airport lots as low as $9 per day. Thanks to earlier posters and BB for providing info guiding the recent bids- it definitely helped.
  8. Tried to get the Venetian beginning with $130 and did free rebids in $5 and $10 increments up to $195. Counteroffer of $231 made after first bid which I rejected thinking I'd not have to go over $180. Since this is not a holiday weekend I didn't expect rejections up to $195 -- the Venetian and other websites are posting rates between $240 - $299.
  9. Yes it is in Marietta and the hotel was very nice; actually better than my last stay there. Interesting note: they now charge $5/day parking which is rare in the suburbs. Also, I must have missed this news item, but there was a huge banner "Shame on you Hyatt" with two picketers in front of the hotel today. I saw an identical sign in front of another Hyatt later in the day. I didn't see the signs over the weekend. Anyone know what's going on?
  10. Last minute trip for one night, 12/16/06 and didn't have much time for research so followed earlier threads and bid once $42 and got this property. Have stayed here before and it's a decent place. Used SavingsBarn link - Happy Holidays!
  11. Was surprised I had to go this high but the opening bid for $55 was rejected and I need a place tonight so with only one rebid I had to increase it and got it on the 2nd bid.
  12. Started out with $49, countered with increase bid offer of $14, added another zone at $55 and accepted. Thanks to all for guidance on this area.
  13. Needed one night at SFO, bids rejected for $40, $45, $50 amd $55. Accepted at $60 which is higher than I would have expectd but it will be convenient. Based on the PL maps I thought it was going to be the SFO Hyatt. Listed amenities are odd: Remote control TV w/ premium channels Telephone w/ voicemail Radio Alarm Clock Iron and ironing board Hairdryer Business services 24 hour front desk Restaurant Room service Bellman Concierge Fitness center access. I called and they confirmed there is a shuttle on request but no icon listed.
  14. Good question; The account info page shows no icons other than hotel, and the St. Regis logo has been replaced by Sheraton; (not even Westin!).
  15. We can confirm that the Diplomat is indeed on the Hotwire list. Paid $135/ night for 2 nights at the 60 room Luxury Collection hotel (at the golf course and spa) not the huge main hotel on the beach. It was superb and appropriately listed with all the amenities. Service was generally 5* and the rooms very luxurious. Valet Parking was $20 extra/day and not really an option if you have a car. The Hotwire receipt had the St. Regis logo but they do not consider themselves as such; rather referring to it as the "spa" property or "Luxury Collection". It is a bit confusing at first, and we did not use the main hotel but it was a great weekend splurge. Website rate was around $400/night.
