  1. You can take a look at my post here --> Priceline Atlanta where I list my rebid strategy for a 4* downtown -- 15 bids total! and snagged the Hilton for $51 a night. Good luck!
  2. 4* Atlanta (Downtown) Hilton won using the PRICELINE link for $51 for one night's stay, compared to the best published rate of $151. Self-Parking will be $21 according to the hotel's website. Room Subtotal: $51.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $14.85 (USD) Total Room Cost: $65.85 (USD) Although I never used all of them, the current 4 star re-bid zones are available, when choosing your primary location as Downtown and NOT choosing anything below a 4 star. 1) *** Atlanta Downtown - Desired Location *** 2) Atlanta West - 3 to 2 star 3) Druid Hills - 3 1/2 to 1 star 4) Forest Park - 2 to 1 star 5) Hartsfield Airport West - 3 to 2 star 6) Jonesboro - 2 to 1 star 7) Kennesaw - 3 to 1 star 8) 12 Lithonia - 3 to 1 star 9) Marietta - 3 1/2 to 1 star 10) Morrow - 2 1/2 to 1 star ... unused ... bid accepted 11) Northlake - 3 to 1 star 12) Smyrna - 3 to 1 star 13) Stockbridge - 2 1/2 to 1 star 14) Stone Mountain - 3 1/2 to 1 star 15) Union City - 2 1/2 to 1 star Bid increments were as follows 35, 37, 39, 41, 43, 45, 47, 49, 50, 51 (Accepted). Had to start lowballing, considering the Atlanta area offers 15 re-bid zones ;-)
  3. You should be fine, since there's not a Red Sox game during the times you're looking to stay. I recently bid on a 3.5 star and above in the Quincy market area and landed the Club Quarters for $157 a night when a Red Sox game was in town, which drives up demand. See my review/post here --> http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showtopic=113144 . You could also consider adding the Harbor Front to your search area to expand the number of hotels that you may end up with, which is in basically the same area as Quincy Market, with some excellent hotel choices. We stayed at the Intercontinental in July of 2009 for $120 a night, which was FABULOUS for a room overlooking the Harbor/Fire Station that normally went for $300+ a night. Based on my recent search in the beginning of August, these are your possible options in both areas: Quincy Market: 3 1/2 Stars - Club Quarters 4 Stars - Hyatt Regency, Ames A Morgan, 15 Beacon, Nine Zero Harbor Front: 3 1/2 stars - Millenium 4 stars - Intercontinental, Boston Harbor, Langham and Hilton Financial Bid strategy, as long as you do NOT choose lower than a 3.5 star, all of these will be free re-bids, so you'll get 6 bids every 24 hours. Check the board to see if anyone else has won anything in that area during the dates you're staying to see where you should start the bidding and go up in $3 or $5 increments, depending on how many days you want to spend bidding to try to get the lowest price. Use PRICELINE link to start bidding --> http://www.betterbidding.com/clicks/click....src=1&id=40 Bid 1) 3.5 Star - Quincy Market and Harbor Front (if desired) Bid 2) add Fenway 5 star - Free Rebid (one-star only) Bid 3) add North Cambridge - Free Rebid (2 1/2 and below only) Bid 4) add Brighton - Free Rebid (3 star and below only) Bid 5) add Medford - Free Rebid (3 star and below only) Bid 6) add South Boston - Free Rebid (3 star and below only) Be aware that you could end up with the Club Quarters at a 3.5* level, although you are traveling during the week, where the rooms are extremely small for more than 1 person and manageable for 2 people. If you're willing to spend $125, I would suggest bidding at a 4* level up to your maximum, before you drop to a 3.5* level, so that you can try to get a better/larger room. Good luck!
  4. Used PRICELINE link to start bidding --> http://www.betterbidding.com/clicks/click....src=1&id=40 Bid 1) 3.5 Star - Copley/Quincy Market and Harbor Front Bid 2) add Fenway 5 star - Free Rebid (one-star only) Bid 3) add North Cambridge - Free Rebid (2 1/2 and below only) Bid 4) add Brighton - Free Rebid (3 star and below only) Bid 5) add Medford - Free Rebid (3 star and below only) Bid 6) add South Boston - Free Rebid (3 star and below only) Started at $90 in $5 increments, after a couple of days of trying, ended up with: $130, $137, $142, $147, $152, $157 (accepted by Club Quarters). Overall a positive experience, the hotel itself was conveniently located, but the rooms were extremely small for a couple traveling with a young child. The hallways and doors are very narrow when trying to use a stroller and the hotel has no pool. The room did have a microwave, small TV and a small refridgerator, but the bathroom was extremely small and had no bathtub. By the time we got the crib, stroller and bags in the room, there was barely enough room for all 3 people to be in the room, including room for both people to navigate around the bed without taking turns. We didn't spend much time at all in the room, other than sleeping, but it was much more cramped than we would prefer, compared to other 3 1/2 or 4 star hotels we've stayed at in the Boston area. It would be suitable for single business travelers or even a couple with no children, but not the best choice for families with children. Excellent location, within walking distance to Quincy Market which offers many different food stands and plenty of shopping. Little Italy, fast food restaurants (McDonald's/Wendys 2 blocks away), multiple T subway stations within 1 to 2 blocks. The walk to Boston Common, Boylston/Newbury Street is also fairly close for additional restaurant and shopping options. Be aware that when staying in the financial district, some restaurants are only open Monday - Friday, so you will have to travel a little further during the weekend, but there is more than enough food, shopping, etc. very close by. On the weekends, this isn't necessarily a disadvantage, getting to and from the attractions on foot and by subway will also be less crowded due to this factor.
