  1. Hi, Just wondering if their "resort fee" included parking? There is a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal now for a 3.5* for the time period I am searching and I think it's the same hotel. Most hotels in that area charge a parking fee of anywhere from $10-15 so if the resort fee includes that, I may consider booking it! Thanks for any info!
  2. Just a follow up … stay was excellent! Do not worry if you get the East Tower - room is HUGE, clean and has terrific view. Could it use updating? Yes but we loved it. Bed was super comfortable and I will say again that the room was huge, not just for NYC standards but for any hotel. We had a regular room (not a suite, not a corner room or accessible room). Also the staff couldn't have been nicer. They let us check in more than 3 hrs early on a Friday because the room was ready and did not treat us any differently because we booked on Priceline (not always the case at other hotels!).
  3. Stay was fantastic! Staff was incredibly nice, room was clean (small but typical for NYC), bed was comfortable, AC worked well. There was also free WiFi and 2 free waters in the room. The hotel is located on 40th St between 8th & 9th Ave. and is walking distance to the Javitz and Times Square as well as the 42nd St subway station. Here were the amenities listed on Hotwire: Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower
  4. Quite surprised to get the Four Points by Sheraton Midtown Times Square for this coming Saturday night for $120 on Hot.wire! Rate $120.00 taxes/fees $35.71 Total: $155.71 I used Priceline for a hotel for the night before (Fri night) and won the One UN in mid-town East area ($125) but didn't want to stay in that same area for the second night. Very happy for this win! *Not sure if this made difference or if it was just coincidence, but when I was looking for a room, I initially listed 2 adults and didn't find anything close to this price. Then I changed it to one adult, one child since that's who is actually traveling, and the $120 rate popped up.
  5. Won 4* hotel One UN (formerly Millennium UN Plaza) in Midtown East area on first bid of $125 for next Friday night 5/30. Surprised the heck out of me! Room cost: $125 Taxes/Fees: $33.70 Total: $158.70 A little concerned that reviews have said that East Tower is run down but for $125 on a weekend I'm not complaining! Lowest rate listed at hotel website is $199/night on their website and Expedia.
  6. UPDATE: I was upgraded to a "parlor suite" upon check in at the hotel last Monday after asking if they had any rooms with a view. The corner room was on the 39th Floor with windows on two sides of the room, one facing Times Square area and the other facing the Hudson River. It never hurts to ask for what you want :)
  7. I followed one of the strategies listed on a previous post (by Matt R) and was able to get the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers for $120 night for one night!! As suggested, I started with $110 for 4*, bid in $5 increments in this order Central Park South, Theater District, Midtown West. Room Subtotal: $120.00 Taxes & Fees: $32.27 Total cost: $152.27 Also of note, this is a Starwood hotel with an SPG guest rewards program. Last time I booked a Sheraton hotel through Priceline, I was given an upgrade when I checked in just for being a part of their guest rewards program! Hope this will be the case again although even without it, this is a fantastic deal. Thanks to your posters for all the tips!
  8. After reading your board I decided to try PRICELINE for the first time and was able to get The Boston Sheraton at $99/night for June 16-17! My first bid was accepted so I wonder if I should've started even less! $99 + $20.73 (taxes/service fees) = $119.73. Their cheapest rate anywhere was $169 using a travelzoo.com discount, and the next cheapest was $239! We've stayed at this property before and we loved it (attached to the Prudential in Back Bay, indoor T-stop in the Pruduntial plus numerous eateries including the Cheesecake Factory and PF Changs next door). The parking is high ($35ish/night) but that's true in most of Boston. The low hotel rate definitely helps balance that out! Thank you for this board. I was able to narrow down the possibilities and was confident that I would receive a great property.
