Hi, would appreciate help with a bid for 12/22-12/26 for a room for 2 people (1 bed is OK) in New York City. I'd like UES/QB but would take MTE as well. From the pinned list, it looks like all the hotels are 3* or above and there is only 1 hotel in the QB area. Based on advice from the Hotwire board (thanks to thereuare!), it looks like we can get the Roger Smith (3* in MTE) for $125/night. Would appreciate any advice on how to craft a bid strategy to get a better price. I'll definitely use the board's PRICELINE link when it's time to bid. Thanks in advance.

Bid history (all in Ledyard (Mashantucket)-Mystic, at the 2* level): Bid $56, rejected Bid $63, rejected but offered immediate rebid for $17 more ($80) Bid $71, accepted. Hello, I'm looking for advice bidding on 2* hotels in the Ledyard (Manshantucket)-Mystic area. Has every 2* win in this zone ended up at the Days Inn? Also, have there been any lower star hotel wins in this zone? (I did a search and didn't find anything.) As background, I've hit my limit of $125 on 3.5* hotels in the Groton area (i.e., Marriott Groton-Mystic), and hit my limit of $103 on 3* hotels in the Ledyard (Manshantucket)-Mystic area (i.e., Hyatt Place, Hilton Mystic, Residence Inn). Now I'm just trying to land the Days Inn at a lower rate than the Hotwire rate of $75/night (amenities: comp breakfast & pool). Thanks for any help.
