  1. We are going with a soccer team, and didn't really love the looks of the hotel they picked, but have decided to go with it anyway....so we are booking directly thru them and the block of rooms they've set aside for the team. Will be back when we get closer to our plans for Ottawa though!!
  2. I decided not to book it. I found out that guests who book through HOTWIRE have to purchase the waterpark passes seperately, which would add $30 per adult and $20 per kid. The reason that they don't list pool is because they don't actually have a pool for guests to use unless they have waterpark passes...
  3. Searched through your link for a hotel from 7/27 - 7/29 for 2 adults, 2 kids. Came up with this "super savings" 3* in Niagara West with the following list of features: Resort Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) Golf Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program Free Parking Free Internet Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Also recommended in 80% of Hotwire customer reviews When I compare to what's available on the published side of Hotwire, the only match is the Americana Waterpark hotel (which our kids would love!!) Any chance you think this is that hotel? The resort, free parking and children's activities eliminate a lot of the other options I think....
  4. I posted a while back about hotels in North Miami Beach, and am still up in the air about what to do. I really want the Doubletree Oceanfront Resort, since I am at a conference there. It does't seem like that one is commonly enought won on either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE to make it a safe bet, so I was looking at pl regular bookings, and they are offering a room for $119 on my dates (july 11 - 16) for $119 but there are "special conditions". I've looked all over their site, but can't find out exactly what that means, I know there are no cancellations, and likely no microwave/fridge like the more expensive rooms, but what else could that mean? Best rate from the hotel is $149 but that is for a room with fridge and micro...THanks for any advice
  5. Sorry, updated the other post. I ran the search again, and hit see all (who knew!!) and up popped (in addition to the amenities I previously listed) tennis nearby, kitchenette, spa and also childrens programs. Does that help? What I am really looking to be near is the Double Tree Oceanfront resort, I would take anything decent within walking distance.
  6. It was the Delta Toronto East, I booked 2 rooms, and my sister also booked a room seperately, winning the same hotel. Turned out great, it is a fine hotel with great kids facilities.
  7. Trying to get a hotel near a conference I am attending in N. Miami Beach Saw this: 3* N. Miami Beach/Bal Harbour/Sunny Isles for $86.00 Ammenities: Resort, beachfront, fitness, pool, restaurants, laundry, high speed net, and golf nearby. The dates are July 11 - 16, 2010. Recommended in 60% of reviews 3.5/5 on Trip Advisor Thanks in advance for any idea what resort this could be?
  8. I need 2 rooms (actually 3) at the Delta Toronto East (Scarborough) for 07/02 - 07/03. I've won this one on priceline fairly recently, and I think it is the only 3.5 * choice for the Scarborough Zone. I got it for $50 last time. It seems to be available on Hotwire as well for $62, so I was thinking of giving it a try.......either way I guess I am only out $11 if it doesn't work!
  9. Thanks!! I'm going to try it on PRICELINE first, got it for $50 last time, but at least if that doesn't work I can fall back on the HOTWIRE price! I'll let you know how it turns out.....
  10. Oops, left out the pool and smoke free - sorry! Yes those are the ammenities I saw when I used your HOTWIRE link to begin my purchase. I think it must be the delta, it is the only one I see mentioned anywhere online with a spa......
  11. I thought it would be the delta scarborough, but it's not showing the kids activity center?? It is showing: fitness, internet, business centre, restaurant and SPA. Any guesses - we REALLY wanted the delta.....the kids love the slide. Thanks!!
  12. Did I post the first post in the priceline area by mistake? They were two seperate things - the first post was a question about Hotwire, which was showing a bunch of hotels, but I was most interested in the 3.5 star, especially if it would be delta, which was what I was trying to ask. Then after thining on it a bit I decided I would just forget hotwire, and go with priceline cause I knew I could get a decent hotel for around $35 and save the $20. So I did just that, and that was the second post. So the first post has nothing to do with priceline or the courtyard marriott that I got on priceline....just so no one is confused ;-)
  13. Used your PRICELINE link to make a bid of $30, but should have just made the first bid $35, that always seems to win it.... Anyway, it asked me to rebid at $38 and I was ok with that, I just wanted the hotel booked. I thought it would be the 4 Points Sheridan we always get that one, but it was the Courtyard. Haven't stayed there yet, but as long as it has a pool for the kids (and it does) it will be fine. ETA: Dec. 22 - 23, 2008
  14. Looking at a 3.5 star in Mississauga with lots of ameneties - pool, gym, spa, restaurant, business center, internet AND childrens activity program (first time I have seen that one - bonus cause we've got the 3 kids with us this time!). Would this be the Delta Medowvale, we've stayed at Delta many times with the kids and they love it - or can you think of any other hotels it could be? Seems like a deal for $56 a night even with the poor exchange!! Thanks
  15. Thanks, it all worked out fine. Even though it was almost an hour drive with traffic, it did take us past IKEA, which was a bonus! The hotel was actually very nice - very nice lobby and restaurant, pool with waterslide, big hottub...very clean common areas. The staff kindly upgraded us to a king room, which was very lovely, clean and spacious. It was great value for the $$ (when I enquired at check in, the walk up rate for the room we got was $199.99). We ordered in room service, which was suprisingly reasonably priced and VERY FAST and tasty. So all in all, it worked out OK, but for sure next time I will be paying VERY close attention to my zones!!
