  1. Amenities were: -Beachfront -Fitness Center -Pool(s) -Restaurant(s) -Kitchenette I'm very happy so far, but I haven't gone and looked at the reviews on tripadvisor. I thought I was going to get stuck in the Holiday Inn Sunspree, which might not have been bad, I just think Wyndam has a better name. We shall see. Thanks much for all your help!
  2. I went with Hotwire, and will post it on the Hotwire forum shortly. We got the Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront, amenitites were: beachfront, fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), and kitchenette. I am happy because I thought we were going to be booked at the Holiday Inn Sunspree, which has so-so reviews. Being on the beach, knowing we'd have 2 beds for us and the kids, and having a kitchenette sealed the deal. Thanks so much for your help!
  3. I did some research and it looks like the two hotels could either be the Beach Quarters Resort and Holiday Inn Sunspree?
  4. Thanks so much for your help. I've never used Hotwire, but it sounds like knowing what accomodations I'd have would be worth the extra money. Any tips for Hotwire? I'll try to read up here of course.
  5. I guess my line of thinking was that if I started with the 3* I might get stuck with the Doubletree off the beach, but if I went with the 2 or 2.5*(didn't see any 2.5* on the list) that I would have a better chance getting on the beach. I guess there's always the possibility that they might upgrade me though? I guess rolling the dice and hoping for one of the other 3* might be worth it? We've got small kids and trudging 10 blocks back and forth to the Doubletree doesn't sound like fun. Thanks for your help!
  6. Thanks thereuare! I was looking in Priceline's zone 9, on or close to the beach. They only show 3* and below for this zone, which is fine. The only problem is that I saw on your hotels list that there's a Doubletree that's quite a bit off the beach, so I'm a little worried we'll get stuck there. Overall I guess I'd settle for 2-3* and up to $100. What do you think? Thanks!
  7. Hi, I've used this website once before on a vacation in Baltimore with great success, but it's been awhile. I'm hoping for a little help for a last minute trip this weekend to Virginia Beach. I've refreshed my memory on the bidding process on Priceline, however it looks like they've got a new map with winning bids in the area you're interested in? I should ignore this, right? I'm a little worried because there's a big festival in VA Beach this weekend, so I'm wondering if I'll be able to find any deals. I looked at the hotel list, and it's pretty short, consisting of only 2 and 3* hotels. We're looking at staying just Saturday night, the 26th. Thanks for any tips, and I'll get bidding, thru the PRICELINE link above of course!
  8. Got it on first bid, try for less!
  9. Hi, New to betterbidding(great site) and to bidding on Priceline. I've tried to do some research on bidding and rebidding. I need a hotel in the inner harbor Baltimore for the night of June 30th. I am looking for a 4* place, as it seems to ensure a nicer place. I saw another member just bid $90 for a 4* and got rejected, then rebid $95 after adding Baltimore WEST. Is that the way to do it? Am I missing anything else? Thanks for the help, just a little apprehensive using PL for the first time!
