I say keep trying PRICELINE. As we get closer to the marathon hotels might start opening up empty rooms. If you don't feel like chancing it, I recommend the Larkspur Union Square. We've stayed a few times and although the rooms are a little small the hotel really is amazing. I would choose this over a regular 4* any day. I just looked and they have rooms available under 140.00. Hope it helps, and good luck!!
We're planning on staying in San Francisco from April 23 - 26 and then in San Jose the night of the 26th before we fly back. Still working on landing a good deal on the SF hotel but for now I was able to book one night: April 26th at The Fairmont San Jose for $75 with one bid! which makes me think I could have bid lower but I'm still happy with the savings!! :)
Not bad I'm curious to see what the hotel is like. I've stayed in the Clift Hotel thanks to Priceline last year and was very impressed. 1st) $90 USW 2nd) $96 USW + USE 3rd) $105 USW + USE + Cathedral Hill btw I payed $112 for a Sunday night stay last Sept for the Clift.
