Bid on a whim and got my offer accepted on the first try. Rooms start at $149 on the Marriott website, so I'm pretty pleased.

It's listed as a 3.5 * in the White House - Downtown zone.

As a point of reference, I just landed the Madera for $80/night (started at $70, then $76, but no dice) for 3/27/09 - 3/30/09. Actually, my original dates were 26 - 30 and I didn't get a bite on anything in the Dupont Circle or Downtown zones at $80. Once I dropped the 26th and opted for a three night stay, I won the Madera.

I'd consider it to be overpaying for any other weekend in May, but given the effect of the Bay to Breakers on availability across the board and the fact that I've been bidding almost daily for the last month (although I did have a back-up option), I'll take what I can get and be happy with it. The Holiday Inn is also currently available at Hotwire for $119, so I'm pleased that I undercut that price at the very least.
