  1. Thereuare, Hey. I hope you are well. I thought I'd let you know about my recent win on Priceline. I began bidding, using the link provided on this forum, on a 3* hotel at $40.00, in the Macon (North) area. Using the method you provided in the past, I bid up to $70.00 without success. Thus, I exited Priceline and re-entered using the same forum link. Then, I bid for a 2.5* hotel in the Macon (North) area. My initial bid of $38.00, was accepted by Fairfield Inn. The lowest price on Fairfield's site is $83.00. So, a fairly decent deal. Thanks and take care.
  2. Yes, the prices were more expensive than I was hoping; however, I'm happy with both hotels. In addition, they are within a block or so of each other, so it should make "moving" day fairly simple. Here is the list you asked for: Amenities Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Accessible for the blind Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking As always, thank you for your help.
  3. Hey. To let you know, I just bid 4* for the four referenced areas up to $235.00, with no accepted bids. With only a little difference between the 3* price and 4* price, I think I would like to bid 4*. Any suggestions? Edited to add: Currently, I see a 4* on Hotwire that is 80% recommended, and contains the following amenities: Internet, Pool(s), Pet Friendly, Fitness Center, Business Center and more . . . . It is listed at $265.00. Do you think that is Hotel Nikko? If so, I don't think I'll do much better, considering my recent bidding and your projected price levels. Further edited to add: I took the HOTWIRE offer referenced above. As you suggested, it was Hotel Nikko. Thank you for your help.
  4. I think I'll try bidding today/tonight. I'd like to keep the price at $200.00 per night for this portion of the trip, if possible. However, I am willing to go up to $250.00 per night or more, if necessary. Do you think a 3* is feasible at $180.00 or less? If not, what do you think the price-range will be for a 3.5*? How about a 4*? Thank you for your guidance.
  5. I'm OK with the Mystic Hotel. However, I'm not sure what site you are referring to offering it at that price. Can you please provide a link? Thanks.
  6. Topic started for the above criteria as a continuation of my split San Francisco hotel thread. I'm willing to spend up to $250 or more, if necessary. However, I'm also fine with a 3* for appreciably less. Thank you for your help.
  7. Hey, Thank you for the reply. Yes, Saturday night is the issue, I think. So, I split my stay. My bid of $225.00 was accepted by Parc 55 for 10/16-19/2013. I attempted to extend my stay, but was declined. I have not started bidding for 10/19-21/2013. I can live with an "ok" place for the final two nights, but would be willing to pay up to $250.00 or so if necessary. Any ideas? Thanks. wha Edited to add: I did use the PRICELINE link from this site for my bidding.
  8. Thereuare, Hey. I hope you are well. It's been a few years, but you've assisted me in the past and I'm hoping you can again. Over the last several days, I've placed bids on Priceline, using the links on this site and following the standard format, for the following: 4*-Up to $210.00, with no accepted bids 3.5*-Up to $210.00, with no accepted bids 3*-Up to $180.00, with no accepted bids I'm about to try again today. I am amendable to splitting my stay. Any advice? Thanks. William

  10. Thereuare, Following your strategy immediately above and bidding through Savingsbarn.com, I received an offer to raise my bid by $22 at the MTW/MTE $145 level. I rejected the offer and my next bid at $150 was accepted by the Barclay InterContinental. A little bit of patience paid off. Thank you for all your help. William
  11. Thereuare, On Hotwire, I found a 4* "Customer Favorite" with Restaurant, Fitness Center, Tennis Nearby, and Business Center in Midtown East for $179. Any ideas? Thanks. William
  12. With the Paramount as a possibility, I would rather pay an additional $70 per night to say in a 4*. So, the answer to your question is "yes."
  13. The Paramount would work in a pinch. The reviews aren't great, but I am traveling with a friend and not my wife which does make a difference. Do you think a bid of $200 would be accepted for 4*?
  14. Thereuare, I tried again this morning using the strategy above, with an opening bid of $140 and an ending bid of $180. Unfortunately, no bids were accepted. I don't mind going to $200 per night, but what do you think I could get a 3* for during the same time period? Thank you for your help. William
  15. No, on splitting the bid. And, yes on lowering the star rating. Even something not on Priceline would be fine, especially as a back-up. Thanks. William
