I have to disagree with the OP. We just returned and loved our Priceline stay at the Hilton Molino Stucky. We were treated very well at check in and no mention of PL was made. Since we are a family with two small children and I had booked two connecting rooms. While our rooms did not have a view of the canal, they were beautifully appointed and very roomy. The entire hotel has only recently been completed and it is fabulous from one end to the other. It is a very large complex. The outside pool was closed (as we stayed in March) but the upper terrace lounge and patios were open and in the evening provided a wonderful view. The hotel offers free shuttle boat service, with the shuttle going directly across the Giudecca canal twice and hour and once an hour it goes to St. Mark's square. I will agree that the cost of food and beverage at the hotel is astronomical, it was easy to find the local "Coop" (grocery store) and buy milk, soda, beer, rolls and cold cuts. The hotel was very kind about emptying one of our minibars. I hope the next time we go to spend more time exploring Giudecca. There were wonderful pastry shops and local restaurants and shops just a five minute walk from the hotel. We took the vapparetto to and from the train station and that was easy and very inexpensive. If you prefer, private water taxis were available with round trip to the train station running about 100 euros. We just loved this hotel and would return in a heartbeat. Our PL price was $125 per night. And again, the staff could not have been any kinder or more polite.

We just returned from Italy and stayed at the Hilton Molino Stucky for three days. It is a gorgeous hotel. It is on a separate island, Giudecca. The hotel offers free shuttle service to St. Mark's Square hourly. One cautionary note, the hotel food prices will stun you. Even for Italy / Europe they seemed really high. We found the local "Coop" (grocery store) on the island. It was only a five minute walk. We stocked up on water, soda, rolls, cold cuts...etc. Hotel was great about emptying the minibar. We plan on returning next year and look forward to staying there again. I hope to spend some additional time exploring Giudecca. Congrats on your win!

1st bid was $120 was rejected and asked to rebid for $22 more. Rejected this and waitied 24 hours. Rebid at $126. Instantly accepted. 2 Rooms booked. Since we are a family of four, most European hotels require two rooms or a suite. I have already called and requested two connecting rooms. We do this all the time in Europe. This ends up being bigger than a suite and have not yet found a hotel who cannot accomodate us. I am so pleased This hotel is VERY expensive!!!!!!

We just returned from a stay at the Rive Gauche Marriott. I had ordered an Executive room which was a bit larger to accomodate my husband and I and our two boys (7 & 8). At check in, the desk clerk spied my two boys and informed me that "by law" they cannot accomodate more than two people per room. We had to upgrade to a junior suite which was a king bed and a sleeper sofa. Extra cost...but I should have known better. Two years ago we went to London and stayed at the Thistle Marble Arch with a winning priceline bid. I did order two rooms and called several times before had to make certain we had connecting rooms...not adjoining but connecting. That was great! Family of four with two bathrooms and four beds. It was quite comfy. Especially since my winning priceline bid was only $70 per night per room. I am currently searching for bargains for Italy for mid March. I don't want to be caught and having to last second upgrade. Good luck.

We just returned from a two day stay at the Westin DFW and it is HEAVENLY. Great staff. Wonderful rooms. What a priceline bargain!

The hotel is the Hyatt Regency. It is the one within the airport.

We traveled to London in March 2006. Our boys were 5 and 6. The hotel we stayed at "Thistle Marble Arch" was very adament that we needed two rooms. Upon arrival I could see why. Double rooms are just two twin beds. We booked our room using priceline, but I got a great deal at $68 per night and booked two rooms. I then (two months in advance) e-mailed and called the hotel I needed two connecting rooms. When we checked in this proved to be great. We had four beds for four people and two baths all for $136 per night. It was like having a suite. There was Marks and Spencer's nearby which allowed us to buy cereal, fruit, etc and the boys could have breakfast in the room each morning. Good luck.
